"But his venture flopped after Israel passed a law in 2012 defining the crocodile as a protected animal, and banning raising the animals for sale as meat or merchandise."
Not much you can do when Gaia worshipers make your business illegal.
"Protected" crocodiles, huh? Ranks right up there with "protected" rattlesnakes for insanity.
All these activist biologists wanting to get their name on a Protected Species designation - even more Brownie Points than getting 'Published'!

As for my Double Post?
Today is Friday’s “Two for the Price of One” Sale!
(Sorry!)
Give them orange vests. Therapy Crocodiles.
Yes. That. Thanks for the reminder.
It also ranks with the tree huggers who have set CA on fire. So yeah. Good reminder!
On second thought, this would make an excellent Undead Thread... Especially the double post so early in the thread!
I don’t know whether they are legal or illegal there, but the law passed prohibiting the farming of crocs for products or meat means that these animals cannot effectively be sold there. Their owner, therefore, is saddled with the maintenance of security and potentially feeding them assuming they can’t feed themselves.
Just stating my opinion that the government should be responsible for the issues they create. If the tourist attraction came into existence after the law banning product/meat sale existed, the issue would have been created by the land owner.
Launch them over the wall. CROCNADO!!!
Crikey!
The Nile is a short drive away, and is native water for crocs.
Agreed.
The visual here would make an excellent cartoon. Perhaps the “Far Side” person from the 80s would like to draw such. . .
If you didn't manage to get her recipe, here's one from The BBQ Pit Boys.. ;-)
It seems Israel has some lizard huggers in high places.
“And if you purchase this crocodile, we’ll throw in nine hundred more! For free! Get your grumbling saurian rock occupiers here, your neighbors will be amazed! Offer not valid in any reality, void where common sense exists.”
Friday ads too.
Would you be horribly offended if the Undead Thread requested your permission to reside in your thread?
We’re kinda sitting at 5k plus posts on the current thread and need a place to move the thread to.
Do it.
I see lots of gator leather for shoes, belts & handbags etc.
Whenever I think I have a problem, I’m going to reread this article. Thanks for posting.
Good one!
They are not kosher. It seems like most problems, government is the root.
Why, oh why are imported crocodiles protected as endangered?
Perhaps the same reason the government protects Gaza Jihadi...
