President Trump says his relationship with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is fantastic and great, leading the Wall Street Journal to suggest that the number two official at the Justice Department may have more staying power than suspected.
Rumors have swirled for months that Rosenstein would be fired by Trump. In fact, back in April, the Washington Post reported that Attorney General Jeff Sessions told the White House he would consider quitting if the president fired his deputy.
However, according to a Wednesday WSJ article, when a Trump spokesman told the president the newspaper was looking for comment on his relationship with Rosenstein, he replied, Its fantastic We have a great relationship. Make sure you tell them that.
The news comes just days after conservative House Republicans filed articles of impeachment against Rosenstein, who was charged with high crimes and misdemeanors for withholding vital information relating to Carter Page from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC). House Republicans, like Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), say they have been stonewalled by the Department of Justice under Rosensteins leadership.

Trump is an eternal optimist. He also plays a long game. He also never tips his hand. Watch what he does, not what he says. I never believe a single word President Trump says to the media. He is playing them like a fiddle and will get the last laugh. Don’t be surprised if he fires Rosenstein right after the mid-term elections. He will never tip his hand. Ever.
Slumbering Sessions needs to go right along with Rosenstein. We can’t wait for 2020 to dump Sessions. He needs to be gone too.
More kabuki theater. Just like Trump is upset with Sessions. LMAO!
Grab some popcorn and be patient, you’ll thank me later.
We have a never Trumper! Thanks for doxxing yourself!
Trump won’t even take away the clearances of key members of the subversive cabal. Something is very wrong.
Wrong. I have always been in Trump’s corner. I just think he’s screwing up with regards to the DOJ, starting with Sessions. But I can always count on Freepers to go into insult mode when it suits them.
Welcome to the idiot list.
Rosenstein is the head of an unelected fourth branch of government that refuses to be held accountable to the congress — or even the president for that matter. This is very serious stuff that threatens the structure of our government and our constitutional system of checks and balances.
For the sake of our democracy and the country, Trump needs to fire him without further delay before he does even more damage.
Never, ever leave insubordinate people in positions where they can undermine you or surreptitiously work against the good of the organization.
A lot depends on November. Get out and vote, and tell your friends to get out and vote. Give Trump a good hand to play and things will get very interesting indeed.
No, if you want to see REAL INSULTS then question whether q exists.
If the gop holds both houses and picks up a few senate seats i think trump will get rid of sessions and rosenstein soon after the election. Otherwise it will occur after the first of the year as an ordinary change of command.
Sleepy Sessions is a tool and everyone in DC knows it.
Rosenstein, Mueller and Sessions are part of a ruse.
Who doesn’t like them? Trump, Republicans.
Who likes them? Democrats.
What happens when they start indicting Brennan, Clapper, Clinton, Lynch, and the lessers.
Heads explode.
If you watch the soap opera with this in mind it will all become clear.
Mueller just referred Tony Podesta to the feds in NY for prosecution. This is only the beginning.
Stay tuned.
LOL!! Get REAL!
Prosecution of Tony Podesta on what charges??
I'm sensing a little something more to Trump's statement below the surface.

“Jeff Sessions told the White House he would consider quitting if the president fired his deputy”.
FIRE HIM and then get rid of SESSIONS. Sessions has been a terrible disappointment and a weak choice. Get someone who has the intestinal fortitude to actually do the job required of the Attorney General.
It could be as simple as an effort to not play into the many reports of turmoil within the administration in the fake news.
Its fantastic We have a great relationship. Make sure you tell them that. - - - - - -

Me too. What Trump said about Rosenstein was like the mafia don’s kiss right on the lips.
Trump is playing for keeps.
Any bets that Rosenstein will resign and quickly head for a bolt hole in a US non extradition country?
Rush Limbaugh had a theory about POTUS comments regarding Rosenstein. Anyone hear the show today to find out what it was?
