Hardly anybody likes hospital food but in Venezuela, it's so awful -- monotonous, starchy diets cooked in filthy conditions, and newborns fed intravenous solution for lack of baby formula -- that experts call it an actual health risk.

The article lays out some nasty conditions.
That was true in the Soviet Union, too. Patients were expected to wash their own bedding in the bucket of dirty water left st the foot of their beds. Doctors made house calls, but they re-used equipment like catheters and syringes. There was a huge black market in medical supplies, because people would do whatever they could to avoid Soviet hospitals.

The joys of Marxist Medicine.
England also has Universal Health Care. Anyone aware of general conditions there? I can hardly wait.

Also, they had no aspirin or acetominiprin
We sent a man to Russia after it opened up. Before the second trip, we bought large containers of Tylenol and split them into baggied of ten tablets. The gifts opened doors everywhere.

I had two hospital stays recently.
On a liquid diet, the liquids were good. They included ice cream
On a solid diet, the food was also good. I was fed what I ordered from the offered menu

The nursing staff, bless their hearts were very professional and did all they could.(can’t say that about my doctors(spit)
After I left I sent the nurses a flower arrangement and a package of goodies.
My brother tells a story about a bunch of wives of Soviet representatives rushing street vendors who were selling athletic socks. It was as if they had struck gold.

I would have thought it would be ‘bring your own food’ there
