In 1999, Roberto Bui, Giovanni Cattabriga, Federico Guglielmi, and Luca Di Meo, writing under the name “Luther Blissett,” published an Italian novel called Q.

Luther Blissett was a name regularly adopted in the ’90s by leftists, anarchists, and general troublemakers in Italy. It was used for staging all kinds of pranks. The Luther Blissetts in different cities would occasionally communicate by phone, but for the most part the project just spread organically. Think of it like an analogue Guy Fawkes Anonymous mask.

That flowed from the original Q and was entirely in keeping with its leftist-anarchist context.

..the authors believe that leftists used it as a playbook to bait the alt-Right, and that it worked on enough of them to matter:

“Coincidences are hard to ignore,” Bui, Cattabriga, and Guglielmi said. “Dispatches signed ‘Q’ allegedly coming from some dark meanders of top state power, exactly like in our book.”

They also pointed to the fact that the Q from the QAnon community is described almost exactly like Luther Blissett used to be described, “an entity of about 10 people that have high security clearance.”

That is just NOT true. I've stayed up til very early in the mornings reading almost every post (have to catch up with the latest because of the primaries yesterday but I'll get Qaught up).

The Q threads have been fairly civil for the most part. When it does become a little uncivil, ransomnote and others have been good about getting things back under control. Much of the unrest comes from the anti-Q trolls who barge in there trying to disrupt the conversations.

Like I mentioned earlier, there is a ton of info being disseminated and vetted there. It's like any conversations with a group of people in real life.

Try to be informed of what is being discussed, be civil, politely inject info to be disseminated, good or bad and most of the time you won't have any problems. If one barges in there without doing any of these things, it's just like in real situations, that is considered rude.

Don't be surprised if some FReepers call that person out on that behavior as many wouldn't act rude like that in a real situation so why there.

You are very wrong on your assessments of those threads.

To summarize it describes how you catch a leaker by giving several documents out with slightly different details like the date, then when that story with the incorrect date appears in the media you know the leaker and who it was leaked too

I am now convinced that they are kids. That explains not being at work, using no commen sense, no logic, the love of decoder gaming. It actually explains a lot. Mostly, adults dont have all day to be playing on the internet so my conclusion is, its mostly kids at play. All the more reason to ignore them.

Very good points edzo4. It really is hard to understand why some of these people can't figure it out for themselves.

It is well established on Free Republic, the media IS the enemy of the American people and why would these people fall back on them time and time again, (conditioned maybe?). Unless they are doing it on purpose, that would explain the irrational behavior.
