Sean Hannity, Jim Acosta erupt on Twitter: 'People see through your lying b/s'

Jim Acosta’s feud with Sean Hannity erupted on Twitter Wednesday evening after the CNN reporter accused the Fox News host of “peddling lies” for profit and “injecting poison” into the American public.

“Hannity is a propagandist for profit, peddling lies every night,” Mr. Acostatweeted to his 665,000 followers, neglecting to tag Mr. Hannity directly.

“He says he’s just a talk show host, not a journalist,” the CNN chief White House correspondent wrote. “But he’s injecting poison into the nation’s political bloodstream warping public attitudes about the press. I’m confident in the long run the truth will prevail.”

Mr. Hannity fired back about an hour later, slamming Mr. Acosta as “fake news.”

And even all Marx’s blather was just a fancy way of saying “steal from the productive”. That idea is as old as dirt.

Me too, BD. I remember the whole farce of Watergate. The democrats were shameless about asserting that there was a “smoking gun.” There wasn’t, and the fake media still owes us (and Nixon and Agnew) an apology.

Now they’re trying to do it all over again. And a lot of stupid fools are enabling them. These useful idiots, the turncoat Republicans and the SJWs, will be the first ones to face firing squads when the Marxists take control of the government. Happens every time...

"...peddling lies every night"

As usual, there is no specificity. Cite the lies, one-by-one, CNN-boy. Most of what I hear from Hannity is easily provable through well-sourced documentation.

And learn to separate alternate points-of-view and opinion from "lies". Just because you may have a different viewpoint does not mean that the other person is lying. So tired of hearing baseless accusations from the left on this.

"Hannity should ignore Acosta. This is the only way Acosta can gain attention, so Hannity should not play his game."

I disagree. The Left assumes silence as either implied assent or cowardice. The Right has been quiet and polite for too long. We've been called out. They want a fight? We should give it to them.

How many followers does Sean Hannity have? I bet he has more than Acosta.

I admit our culture allows him to be a leftist lying shill as a person. His employer and his personal ethics allow him to act out that persona instead of the work of being a journalist.

The result is CNN no longer has journalists. And the activist in question can no longer claim any shield from critics as a journalist.

You see Fake News by Jimmy from that office makes him a propogandist

Perhaps, but there might be some CNN vs FOX going on here with those two as the surrogates.

I’m growing tired of your lame advice. Hannity has every right to fight back & not just sit there silent. As if that would show Acosta!

I don’t really follow Hannity as he’s not my style but I really hope he hauls Acosta to court over this. I would love to see Acosta learn that while there’s freedom of speech, there is no freedom from consequences.

Acosta must have missed that week in journo school when they talked about journo reporting the news; not being the news.

Ahhh...there's one from the memory bin, but the complete term was "Nattering Nabob of Negativism", which REALLY nails the current CNN!!

Acosta operates on the old Twain maxim of you don’t get into fights with those who buy ink by the barrel.

Hannity realizes that CNN is buying ink in quarts now, Acosta does not.

This is a poor argument that keeps being brought up here on FreeRepublic in this and other contexts, and I do not understand why it is accepted so uncritically. Hannity is fighting back and you tell him he shouldn’t. You suggest he is doing more harm than good by attracting attention to the man, but I think that you are attacking Hannity instead of Acosta. Why cannot this argument be applied to anyone who ever fights anything? “Be nice!” Don’t stoop to their level. “Just ignore it and it will go away....”

Hannity is fighting back and he does not need your permission or approval to do so. He does not need to fight in ways that you approve of, and you are doing more harm than good by criticizing someone who is trying to carry the fight to the enemy.

Perhaps you could write up some rules of engagement for Hannity and others so that they only fight in ways that make you feel comfortable. We could debate your ROE and read them into the minutes.

I know you are a good FReeper and a true patriot one of the best, there is no doubt about it nevergiveup, but I think that rather than take this line, perhaps you could suggest a line of attack that might be more effective.

If this line of criticism is correct then it should apply to President Trump as well. Trump is calling attention to CNN by calling them fake news. He should shut up and be nice, you think?

Perhaps we should recognize that the President and Hannity have identified the enemy target of the day. FIX BAYONETS!
