I want to see a crowded field during the 2020 Democrat presidential primary season, with Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Hillary, and Bernie Sanders, among others. The old guard against the young radicals. It will be cordial at first, with the common theme being “we hate Donald Trump and must defeat him.” However, after the first few primaries are over and the polls start to separate the contenders, they’ll turn on each other, and it will get as nasty as it’s ever been. The Democrat National Convention just may be a repeat of 1968.

I think Biden probably IS the strongest candidate on the Dem bench (and that’s not saying much). However, I doubt they will nominate him.
“...unnamed sources in the President’s inner circle....” I expect. It will be very helpful if the DNC and MSM just go with this theme, that Biden is the possible candidate to fear in 2020.

The professional political class still doesn’t understand Trump. The good news that until they do they will continues to lose elections to him.
IMHO Trump regards his presidency as a repayment to the Republic. It is NOT a job. Once he completes his tour of duty to the Republic he gets back his freedoms, moves back into a home almost as luminous as the White House, an extremely large pay raise, and a private airplane that rivals the comforts of Air Force One.
Todate almost all of his opponents depend on winning elections to put food on the table.
