Britany Jacobs, the girlfriend of the man shot and killed in a Florida parking lot last week, says her boyfriend was just coming to her defense and the gunman wanted someone to be angry at. Now she wants justice, she says.
Jacobs, who witnessed the shooting along with the couples 5-year-old son, said she and her two small children were waiting in the car for her boyfriend, Markeis McGlockton, while he ran into a convenience store in Clearwater, Florida. Onlooker Michael Drejka got out of his parked car and began harassing her about being parked in a handicap space, she said.
Surveillance video showed McGlockton exiting the store and shoving Drejka to the ground. Drejka then drew a handgun and shot and killed McGlockton.

Provocation does not affect the plain meaning of the law. Her boyfriend would have been well served to keep his hands to himself.
No, her boyfriend sparked the shooting by not knowing how to keep his hands off of other people.
I would have shot his butt, too.
“Markeis McGlockton, “
Got “Glocked!”
It has been reported down here that the ‘shooter’ has done this several times before, waits until someone parks in the handicap space and then gets out of his car and berates them for it................
Man A rightly chastises her
Man B assaults Man A for "dissing" lazy woman
Man A acts in self defense and stops the threat
Sounds like justice was done.
They parked in handicapped, she got out of the car to confront the man who suggested they move to a regular spot, the thug boyfriend pummels the guy who could easily have hit his head an severely hurt himself - it appears that it was the boyfriend who had anger issues and wanted a fight.
Women play a game of can I get these men to fight.
Jail the woman.
If she was afraid, why get out of the car?
There appears to be a disparity in size which would have some bearing.
It is not a "stand your ground" shooting! It's a shooting. Maybe it will be ruled self-defense, maybe it won't. Either way, "stand your ground" has nothing to do with it.
Victim’s girlfriend says Florida gunman provoked fatal ‘stand your ground’ shooting
Well, DUH. What would you expect her to say? Maybe she didnt see her boyfriend knock the twice as old white guy on his ass?
Guys like Drejka should be allowed to put up an ancillary sign saying "I'll shoot you over this parking space I'm guarding", along with a picture of a dog in a manger - just so's everyone is clear about it...
It works the other way too. Generally, you can't shoot someone for shoving you. And you can't shoot them when they are backing off.

GoldenPup - you down with having to look over your shoulder for nutballs who are "guarding" places where you might venture?
I see no issue with someone speaking out on what they think is wrong. I don’t know if this was a justified shooting, but the boyfriend had no reason to push the guy to the ground.
Here's the problem. The threat doesn't appear to be a deadly one. They guy was shoved to the ground, after which nothing else happened, and the shover backed off when the gun was pulled. It appears that showing the gun ended the non-deadly threat. Shooting it is going to be hard to cast as self-defense. I predict he gets charged.
NEW AGE OF POLITENESS
America has entered a new Trumpian era with a very pro 2nd Amendment Supreme Court. This is the new “Age of Politeness”.
If you formerly went around pushing people, or beating on them, well, that used to be accepted assault.
No longer, because now, you should always assume your victim is armed.
BE POLITE !
Lesson Learned: Don’t illegally park in a handicap space and don’t assault someone who complains. No sympathy.
