President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Sunday released a seven-page letter he sent to U.S. President Donald Trump detailing how he plans to improve Mexico's economy and security when he takes office in December so that Mexicans do not feel the need to migrate.
"There will be many changes," he promised in the letter. "And in this new atmosphere of progress with well-being, I'm sure we can reach agreements to confront together the migration phenomenon as well as the problem of border insecurity."
Lopez Obrador also suggested the two countries draft a development plan backed by public funds and invite Central American countries to join, with the aim of making it "economically unnecessary" for Central Americans to migrate.

Ind of like the rhetoric of Donald Trump about a wall, it gets votes. But already he has a cabinet and many are serving in a grauitous manner, and several professionals and retired people have offered services for free. His major campaign theme was to get rid of corruption. I think he is serious about this, and there are signs in Mexico that he is going to follow through.

I lived 4 mi from there and I said that’s right, No one has, there is NOTHING THERE, no Migas no town, Nothing.
Mexico needs to be made great. Mexico has a corruption, narco and demographic/socioeconomic imbalance problem. Going Socialist and poking the USA while dumping population is never the answer.

If he is truthful about helping Mexicans, and the Central American Countries, I wish him luck. Trump should invite him and the CA presidents to meet at the White House and talk about reducing taxes and creating a market based economy. I’d love to see a Columbia to Mexico Railroad to tie into the North America rail network ( will never happen, thou) and People working in their country not in the USA.

No. Tell them to lighten, ok? We’ve been putting up with enough bs from Mexico for years. Talk is cheap. Start doing it.
