Washington, D.C. U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement today on President Trumps meeting and press conference with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki:
Todays press conference in Helsinki was one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory. The damage inflicted by President Trumps naiveté, egotism, false equivalence, and sympathy for autocrats is difficult to calculate. But it is clear that the summit in Helsinki was a tragic mistake.
President Trump proved not only unable, but unwilling to stand up to Putin. He and Putin seemed to be speaking from the same script as the president made a conscious choice to defend a tyrant against the fair questions of a free press, and to grant Putin an uncontested platform to spew propaganda and lies to the world.
It is tempting to describe the press conference as a pathetic rout as an illustration of the perils of under-preparation and inexperience. But these were not the errant tweets of a novice politician. These were the deliberate choices of a president who seems determined to realize his delusions of a warm relationship with Putins regime without any regard for the true nature of his rule, his violent disregard for the sovereignty of his neighbors, his complicity in the slaughter of the Syrian people, his violation of international treaties, and his assault on democratic institutions throughout the world.
Coming close on the heels of President Trumps bombastic and erratic conduct towards our closest friends and allies in Brussels and Britain, todays press conference marks a recent low point in the history of the American Presidency. That the president was attended in Helsinki by a team of competent and patriotic advisors makes his blunders and capitulations all the more painful and inexplicable.
No prior president has ever abased himself more abjectly before a tyrant. Not only did President Trump fail to speak the truth about an adversary; but speaking for America to the world, our president failed to defend all that makes us who we area republic of free people dedicated to the cause of liberty at home and abroad. American presidents must be the champions of that cause if it is to succeed. Americans are waiting and hoping for President Trump to embrace that sacred responsibility. One can only hope they are not waiting totally in vain.
I decoded everything up to the ‘IAF’, which was hilarious, by the way.
Die, John.
No one’s listening anymore.
This from the guy who couldn’t even figure out which foot his orthopedic boot belonged on? LOL.
This Senator has reached rock bottom and begun digging.
Yeah, we get it, you brain-cancer-riddled drooling vegetable. Trump should have shouted at Putin, swung his fists at him, and started a nuclear war.
I now fully understand that, in the 2008 election, Barack Obama was the lesser of two evils.
If you had won, the world would be a radioactive smoldering ruin with the few survivors picking at corpses for food.
Hey John boy, your fingerprints are all over the dossier. Were I you, assuming it is you, I’d keep my mouth shut. If it is not you, anyone using you as Paul Winchell used to use Jerry Mahoney has to DAES.
Thank you for your service,er, the funeral service I mean.
Over the top condemnation by the Deep State towards President Trump is only showing how scared these people really are. Our entire intelligence community has been compromised by these globalist patsies in DC, and theyre willing to start a conflict with Russia to hide their transgressions. Sooner or later Trump is dropping the hammer on these people. He has the goods on all of them and they know it!
Perhaps he is actually dead already, and all these bombastic statements are being penned by Peter Strzok.
This man is a chairman of nothing. He hasn’t shown up for work nor has he been seen since December.
Sorry Deep State and McCain brood. We ain’t buying it.
McCain worked with the liberal elite press, with the deep state , with Fusion GPS, and he’s a Trump hater. So just what do we expect him to say?
Have the media shills found Flake for his quote yet?
Still think this drip will vote for Kavanaugh?
Juan McPain is nothing more then a living, breathing SOB.... But, thankfully not for long....

SENATOR MCCAIN has should not be permitted to “legislate” from his AZ home.

McCain isn’t writing this. And it is interesting that they call him the Chairman of the committee since he hasn’t been to work in year. Not chance he knows what he is doing.
My son used to have a government security clearance and he would occasionally talk to Generals at the Pentagon. He has brain cancer now. He watches cartoons and can’t find his glasses ( they are on his head).
Abby Huntsman was already putting out The Bishop's talking points this morning.
Cue up “Prop Me Up by the Jukebox When I Die”. . . .
Heavy flack over the target.
What is disgraceful is a Senator criticizing a President who is on foreign soil for doing his job. McCain is a petty SoB still upset over the primaries.
He did Tweet something in support of Kavanaugh. The establishment types love Kavanaugh. That can be good or bad. It’s good in terms of confirmation and possibly bad if he turns out to be establishment.
