Unless I'm missing it, I'm surprised there is no thread for the Trump meeting with Putin. The media (and even some of Trump allies) are going ballistic.
Trump said that both sides have contributed to the atmosphere, and while he brought up the meddling, he seemed to be open to Putin's denial and suggestion to allow Mueller to question his people in exchange for them being allowed to question Bill Browder & others.
Trump questioned the intelligence agencies with regard to the Clinton investigation, for not getting the server of the DNC, and the bias of people like Strozk. He then forcefully denied collusion (which I believe) and said he felt this was an attempt to undermine his election victory.
Trump has definitely tied this Mueller investigation to his election victory. He doesn't seem to have separated out the verdict against the Russians for meddling with the accusations of collusion. I think he believes this entire investigation is being done to undermine his victory and get him impeached. With the sheer bias in the intelligence agencies, I understand his skepticism between how they handled the Clinton probe to how this has gone one with the investigation of him with the bias, dossier, spies, unmaskings, Mueller's team of Dems, and so forth.
That said, the media is in an uproar. John Brennan said:
"Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanors.” It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???"
Statements like that are why Trump doesn't trust the intelligence agencies by the way.
Anderson Cooper compared him to Rainman and said it was one of the most "disgraceful performances" he's ever seen from a President.
Neil Cavuto on Fox called it "digusting", and Ed Henry thought he should have called Putin out for the hacking.
Anyway, there have been people who have criticized him who are Republicans like Sasse, Flake, and some mild criticism from Graham.
One that did surprise me considering her dad is Ambassador to Russia, is Abby Huntsman. She Tweeted, "No negotiation is worth throwing your own people and country under the bus."
There are Republicans who have defended him. Issa did per CNN, and CNN said many they talked to in the House defended him in light of the FBI bias. CNN in general is having a meltdown. I literally was laughing while watching the hysteria.
For the record, I think it's entirely possible Russia hacked the DNC and Podesta. However, without the DNC servers, I am somewhat skeptical, and as I said before, I understand his skepticism between how they handled the Clinton probe to how this has gone one with the investigation of him with the bias, dossier, spies, unmaskings, Mueller's team of Dems, and so forth.
I don't trust Mueller at this point. There has been no guilty verdict or trial yet. He certainly has put forth his evidence of hacking, although not collusion. Here's what he could do - it's possible he simultaneously didn't collude but that Russia was involved in the hacking. However, I think Trump has linked the two, and that will earn him criticism.
There are a lot of calls from the left and media and some establishment Republicans of criticism if not treason. We can post reaction here and discuss it from all sides.
On a side note, Trump looked a bit tired. Too much contentious meetings over too short a time period for his good I feel. I hope I am wrong and if not, I hope he is able to recharge because these vermin of a media need be brought to heal before they get the US in a frenzy. Jackals snapping at his heals is what they look like to me.

Agree. Trump, like any human, DOES make mistakes. His history is that he learns from them and gets better. I’m sure there will be a lot of discussion on the flight back...Nothing will happen right away, but I’m betting there will be some change in focus and message over the next few weeks.

What facts? Show me the facts because I have the threads that correspond with each of these four things. I don’t have any self worship, but when I’m attacked for expressing opinions that may not be popular on here (and in this case I wasn’t even expressing my opinion), I think I have a right to defend myself. The poster attacked me based on past posts as though I’m always just alarmist. No. Sometimes I post something unpopular or different, but I’m not always wrong as in those four examples. I’m not the person out there targeting invidual posters because I’m triggered by reading something they posted I don’t like.
The left has reached peak hysteria today. I was watching CNN, and while there was a time their outrage would have angered and upset me, I didn’t feel upset and was even amused at their hysteria.
That’s the thing. I seem to have a recollection that Trump was attacked prior to even the start of the Russia investigation in the summer of 2016 for merely campaigning on wanting better relations with Russia. They were attacking him on it prior to the investigation even being secretly opened.
And now they hate Russia.
Huntsman clan and Romney clan are in the Elite Circle be very careful of what comes from them.
I feel certain they can and will go further.

We rarely watch Fox News. With the exception of Hannity, their coverage is no better than the other Democrat media
Ditto. The hacking outrage is selective. When Equifax got hacked, all the outrage was directed at Equifax for not protecting their servers and rightly so. DNC/DCCC/Podesta get hacked and MSM blames DJT colluding with Russia. Total B.S.
