The House Freedom Caucus voted unanimously on Tuesday to support Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan amid allegations that he ignored claims of sexual abuse while he was a wrestling coach at Ohio State University.

“Jim Jordan is a man of integrity, and we believe him and stand with him 100 percent,” reads a statement from the caucus’s Twitter account.

Jordan is a co-founder of the caucus, which consists of conservative and libertarian Republicans.

North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows, the chairman of the caucus and a close ally of Jordan’s, told reporters that Jordan has the “unanimous support” of the nearly three dozen Freedom Caucus members. Meadows also said that there were unspecified “motives at play” to take down Jordan.

Congressman Jordan is our main speaker next Tuesday (7/17) at a fundraising dinner in Prince George’s County (to the north and east of DC). Certain elements suggested we reconsider and I led the faction holding fast. If you are in the area and interested in attending, I can give you information via Freep Mail.

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

Sex issue allegations concerning Rep. Jordan aside, in late June Rep. Jordan put Deputy AG Rosenstein on the hot seat about withholding Trump investigation information, Jordan giving Rosenstein seven days to get his act together.

In Heated Exchange, Rep. Jim Jordan Accuses Rod Rosenstein Of ‘Hiding Information’ | NBC News

So since seven days have come and gone, besides sex issue allegations, is there anything in the “mail” about Jordan getting what he wanted from Rosenstein? Or was that seven days not a firm seven days?

Maybe Jordan was talking about working days. /sarc

Election year dog-and-pony show?

Hypothetically speaking, at this point I’d fire both Jordan and Rosenstein.

Insights welcome.

It's Speaker Ryan and the many RINOS that are the problem, not Jordan. It's they who don't support holding Rosenstein's feet to the fire. Try to be more discerning.

I’d actually like to fire the whole uniparty Congress.

Jordan is one man. He cannot do this alone.

That is how the Swamp wins.

The swamp runs deep, not just in the USA but world wide. We see this in parts of the EU.Thanks to the Freedom caucus for shedding light on this blight to freedom.
