A PARTIAL VIEW OF HIS RECORD:

On hot-button questions, Mr. Kavanaugh has trended conservative on issues such as abortion, indicating a narrow view of what constitutes an undue burden on a woman’s right to end her pregnancy, and the Obamacare contraception mandate, though his take on the mandate was somewhat more conciliatory than right-wing activists would prefer. A nemesis of the administrative state, he has frequently voted against the Environmental Protection Agency, arguing that programs to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions and cross-border air pollution went further than the law allowed; in each case he took an overly narrow view of the statute. Mr. Kavanaugh seems less willing to grant executive agencies leeway in interpreting Congress’s instructions than the Supreme Court has typically shown. Senators must explore how far this philosophy extends.

More than ever, the court is in danger of becoming viewed as an instrument of politics rather than an independent, nonpartisan branch of government. <<<

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!...The only job of the SC is to “INTERPERT” the Constitution...not alter it!.....That job belongs to the Citizens and the Politicians they elect.......The Founding Fathers had to be divinely inspired...

HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! What a giant steaming load from the WaPo. Gee, it wasn’t a partisan tool/plaything/battleground when Kennedy and Biden spewed all kinds of hateful crap about Robert Bork who was extremely highly qualified huh? It wasn’t that again when Kennedy tried to gin up a BS sexual harassment claim against Clarence Thomas huh? It wasn’t again when Harry Reid invoked the nuclear option to ram a nominee through just casting aside over 200 years of tradition in the Senate. Oh no, it was all just those mean ole Republicans preventing Obama’s nominee from coming up for a vote. THAT’s when it got “political”.

Everything is fair when the Democrats do it see?

Obviously the WaPo had this editorial pre-written. I’d like to read their other pre-written editorials on the other candidates.

IMO a good & solid choice, now that I know more about him.

I saw an Axios chart where they rank Judge Kavanaugh to the right of Gorsuch and just left of Thomas (who was the right-most you could get). Compare that to ‘swing’ Judge Kennedy, and the court has potentially made a HUGE change to the conservative right.

Just imagine a President Hillary nominating Loretta Lynch say to the bench. What a miracle that we were saved from that!

"The Senate should take care."

And to take care is to confirm. Our Constitution and its effect should be restored and preserved as it was intended to do. And it's intents from this perspective are unarguably conservative (old fashioned) regardless of partisan and religious perspectives.

My concern is the opposite of the Washington Post’s concern.

If the WaPo is upset over the politicization of the Court, they should have supported the nomination of Robert Bork and opposed Ted Kennedy's character assassination of him. Typical liberals. They create the monster, then cry like little girls when the monster turns on them.

WaPo is so full of crap with this “danger to democracy” argument. The Supreme Court is one of the main reasons why the people of this country voted for Donald Trump in an electoral college landslide.

It is not a conservative court that should ever be feared for all the conservative court does is uphold our 200+ year old constitution as intended. It’s the leftist court that must be feared for it creates law out of thin air. Trump has done an excellent job so far protecting us from that type of institutional terror.

Judge Amul Thapar Joan Larsen Raymond Kethledge Amy Coney Barrett Thomas Hardiman XX Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to replace retiring Justice Anthony M. Kennedy on the Supreme Court comes at a tense moment. It could drastically shift the court’s tenuous ideological balance, and it comes not long after Senate Republicans disgracefully blocked President Barack Obama from making a court pick in his final year.

The American Family Association is not particularly happy with this choice.

President Donald Trump announced the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to fill the vacancy of Justice Anthony Kennedy on the U.S. Supreme Court. I<

Judge Kavanaugh is simply the wrong nominee-even a bad nominee. Based on his written opinions, Judge Kavanaugh has demonstrated a deficiency in a constitutional judicial philosophy of a limited judiciary. Some of his decisions may have been favorable, but several of his opinions about those decisions contain problematic language. I<

Urge your senators to oppose the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court. I<

Although Judge Kavanaugh decided correctly in court case Priests for Life v. U.S. Dep't of Health & Human Services, he wrote a moderate opinion disagreeing with the Priests on a foundational constitutional religious liberty principle. I<

As a result of Obamacare, the faith-based organization Priests for Life and others argued that the government could not compel or force them to provide contraception and abortion causing drugs for their employees. Judge Kavanaugh unnecessarily conceded in his opinion that the government has a compelling interest to force religious organizations to provide contraceptives and abortifacients for employees. Kavanaugh's concession created a dangerous precedent. I<

There are also concerns with his opinion related to illegal alien female minors who are expecting but also seeking an abortion in the United States. Other concerns relate to his writings on Obamacare. It’s been argued that Judge Kavanaugh provided the roadmap to uphold the Obama Administration’s healthcare overreach at the Supreme Court. Judge Kavanaugh is said to provide the legal argument for Chief Justice to save Obamacare by calling the mandatory insurance a tax. I<

Judge Kavanaugh's reasoning on religious liberty, Obamacare and issues concerning life have proven to be of major concern. For these reasons and more, urge your senators to firmly oppose the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh as a Justice on the United States Supreme Court. I<

If our mission resonates with you, please consider supporting our work financially with a tax-deductible donation. The easiest way to do that is through online giving. It is easy to use, and most of all, it is secure. I<
