CNN’s Acosta Takes Shot At Trump, Only Proves He’s Actually Vetting His SCOTUS Candidates

Implying that Trump might be seeking out a justice who would have his back in the event that the Mueller investigation ever bore fruit, he made sure to mention a report that “Trump’s SCOTUS team has looked at Kavanaugh’s past comments on indicting a sitting president.”

Acosta's comments ignore the impeachment process in the Constitution, and at this time the Dems do not have the votes in the House to pass impeachment. Yes, I know it takes 67 votes in the Senate to convict.
But what would happen if Mueller did try to bypass the impeachment process and went directly to an indictment against Trump? You can bet that Dems would be screaming for recusals in the SCOTUS. I think such an effort would fail, but then I didn't expect the Sessions recusal.

For what it's worth, I think it might be simpler to nominate someone other than Kavenaugh.
