PGA 3 day event. Tournament formerly called Greenbrier Classic. President Trump arrived the first day to kick off the event.

President Donald Trump spoke to the Salute to Service event Tuesday at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., held in conjunction with the PGA Tour’s there stop this week.

During his speech, he recognized several current PGA Tour pros in the crowd, including Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson. Trump also called out PGA Tour Champions player John Daly.

“I like Phil, and Phil I think likes me,” Trump said.

Amid his remarks on various policy items, and praise for the military, he offered some plaudits for golfers.

“These are PGA players. These are unbelievably talented people. They’re talented in their mind and in their body,” Trump said. “Their muscles are strong but their mind has to be stronger. It’s tough. And these are tough people.”

Housed under the West Virginia Wing of The Greenbrier Resort, the top-secret, super-sized bunker was built for all 535 members of Congress during the Eisenhower era. And, The Greenbrier, which has been welcoming guests from around the world since 1778, including 26 presidents and countless celebrities.

It is a gorgeous day here in the Loveliest Village. I am on my pallet swing which my hubby built for me two years ago. I am enjoying our backyard, the green grass, pine trees, and blue sky. Altogether peaceful. I just got the first round of work done, computer work, not physical work. I’m talking a break of indeterminent length. Then, round two. After that I have a nebulous list of need to do stuff in my mind which may or may not get done.

2h...Gassed up and ready to embark on Pres Trump's 6th foreign trip, a nearly 10,000-mile journey with stops in Brussels, London, Scotland and Helsinki.

Mark Knoller...2h...In exchange with press on leaving WH, Pres Trump said he can't say if Putin is a friend or foe. Calls him a competitor. But says getting along with Russia and China is not a bad thing. Will see how his Putin meeting goes on Monday.

Pres says his meeting with Putin might be the easiest talks on his schedule this trip compared with @NATO allies and British PM @theresa_may.

Mark...Despite his differences with @NATO allies over defense spending, Pres Trump says he expects he and the allies will work it out.

2h...On illegal immigration, Pres Trump calls it a disgrace that some people are calling for the elimination of @ICEgov. Says Americans ought to support ICE, not calling for its abolition as some Democrats are doing.

Before leaving WH, Pres Trump said his Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh is "getting rave reviews...actually from both sides," though some Dems were quick to announce their opposition. Says he thinks Kavanaugh's confirmation will be "a beautiful thing to watch."
