Theres a difference between a home run and a grand slam. Since the moment Justice Kennedy stepped down, an intense, mostly friendly battle has been waged in public and in private over Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Some of the claims are silly. Hes no squish. Hes a brilliant jurist whos written some of the best and most influential appellate-court decisions in the United States. And whisper campaigns that call him the low-energy Jeb Bush pick or claim that hed somehow be a compromise nominee are simply wrong.
Lets put it this way: If Kavanaugh is some sort of deep-cover David Souter, hes done a remarkably good job of hiding it, building a mountain of stellar originalist jurisprudence. Ed Whelan has been doing yeomans work over on National Reviews Bench Memos blog, righteously defending Kavanaughs record on religious liberty, the Second Amendment, free speech, immigration, and the administrative state. And Ed isnt alone. Pieces from former Kavanaugh law clerks at The Federalist and at NRO have ably defended him from attacks and highlighted the best parts of his jurisprudence.

If NeverTrumper David French thinks Kavanaugh is good, Trump should reconsider !
What about the Indian Catholic guy?
and reportedly squashed the vince foster investigation if the following is true:

If Kavanaugh was closer than 30 miles from any reported sexual assault or rape in his entire lifetime he’s toast.
Crystal’s pick to run against Trump. Profound wisdom from a never trumper. Hogwash.
Anyone whom the GOPE/#NEVERTRUMPERS like, is RED FLAGGED andan automatic no go!
If NeverTrumper David French thinks Kavanaugh is good, Trump should reconsider !

Exactly
And Kennedy got both of those right.
It’s a conspiracy, I tell ya! Reptilians! Shape-shifters! Misogynistic robots! The Patriarchy!
My vote is for Thapur simply because, as a conservative minority, he has shown he will stand up to leftist pressure on minorities to “be liberal”.
To save the remaining time on his term, preserve Republican control of Congress and place himself in the best position to win the 2020 presidential election, President Trump should nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to fill the opening on the U.S. Supreme Court. | Fox News

What if the trumpster is interviewing for the next opening. R Buzzie G or Breyer or Thomas retirement? He had a #2 picked when Gorsuch made it. When dealing with DJT keep your powder dry. I like them all but we have Justice Roberts to take the place of the SCOTUS floater Kennedy. Do I sound bitter over the Obamacare horsedung decision?
The growing buzz on Kavanaugh and Barrett tell me Trump has someone else in mind. Itd be a great tactic, steering the libs and their media toward these two while he preps someone completely different. My money is on Thapur.
Can’t these people wait just two more days until Trump makes the announcement?
I’ve seen several articles this week, speculating who the SCOTUS pick will be...they need to just chill?
Are they just trying to “scoop” each other, or get started early on the candidate-bashing...or both?
It’s the weekend, go to the lake, go shopping, do something, but quit obsessing over Trump’s pick, because you’re not going to think of any digs today that you won’t think of on Monday.
Jeeeeeeeshhh.
Trump’s choice may not be my preferred pick but I will defer to his judgment. His insight and strategies are superior to mine and to probably everyone else’s on FR or anywhere else, anyone who is in any position to make these choices or influence them.
He’s not it. Not yet.

Kavanaugh soundly determined that the HHS mandate regulations substantially burden the religious organizations exercise of religion because the regulations require the organizations to take an action contrary to their sincere religious beliefs (submitting the form) or else pay significant monetary penalties.
Go back and read his second opinion on it. Heres a new one from
The Federalist.
The Federalist just came out against Kavansugh on a decision where he ruled an atheist had standing to sue because he was offended by the ‘So help me GOD’ portion of the presidential oath. In other words if a snowflake is offended by anything we say they can sue us into bankruptcy. This whack job is toast.

David French supporting Kavanaugh is yet another reason for conservatives to object to Kavanaugh.
