Well, of course, there’s this:

But then again, there’s this:
“The orders most commonly stemmed from offenses at the West Oakland Station and Powell Street Station in San Francisco, followed by the Hayward Station and the Lake Merritt and Coliseum stations in Oakland, records show.”
““Our data shows that 94 percent of those who get prohibition orders adhere to (them),” she said. “This shows the system is a safer place with prohibition orders.”
Exactly. Their color is only noteworthy; not the cause of them being banned. They did something to be banned. Now if they want to have a conversation about why so many are black; we can do that too but it's otherwise irrelevant to keeping the passengers safe on the transits.

We will NEVER ride BART again at night. We escaped one night from druggies who were threatening everyone on the cars. Prayed for an angel to shield us and get us through the tunnel unharmed.
Now, they’d get a little pepper-mace spray facial!
The last time I took BART (years ago, to see a Giants game with several friends) was quite an experience. A small group of “youths” were making their way down our car, harrassing our fellow riders at random. When they started with us my ex-BIL (off-duty cop) displayed his pistol and badge, said something menacing, and they moved on.
BART riders are maybe 10% black, 40% white and 50% asian, hispanic. BART was built in 1970, I started riding in 1985, Sunday mornings have people praying the rosary, Friday evenings have BART conductors joking with the party crowd, and every day you can see the coolest bicycles on the planet.

12 to 15% are African-American or Negro.
how many are repeat offenders ?
and for what behavior ? ie- maybe for defecating on the Bart Property ?
what percentage of the population in the locations they are ‘banned’ are ‘black’ ??
how many of these are not even riders ?
perhaps certain people think they have special privileges and have been ‘enabled’ and just keep pushing.
Thanks for the info. Having never been to San Francisco, I just assumed the ridership was largely black only based on what I’ve seen elsewhere.
Assuming folks can trust BART’s numbers.
