DNC chair: Ocasio-Cortez represents the 'future of our party'
By Aris Folley - 07/03/18 04:35 PM EDT
Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez said Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez represents the future of our party on Tuesday.
"I have three kids. Two of them are daughters one just graduated college, one who is in college. And they were both texting me about their excitement over Alexandria because she really she represents the future of our party," Perez said on "The Bill Press Show."
Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old self-proclaimed democratic socialist and organizer with Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) presidential campaign, rose to fame after defeating incumbent Rep. Joseph Crowley (D) in a stunning primary upset last week.
Crowley was the No. 4 House Democrat and seen as a potential Speaker.
Perez on Tuesday added that he had "great respect" for Crowley, calling him a good Democrat who fought the good fight."

So does Venezuela!
Does this mean they’ll stop using superdelegates to rig their primaries so people like her can’t win?
“I dont think it is the socialism so much as it is her work ethic which must have come as a genuinely nice surprise in a politician.”
Or the fact that she’s a pretty, vivacious latina with a smoking hot body...
But they have been that...without saying it for 50 years...............................
And their new slogan is, “like Venezuela, because zoo animals are so tasty!”
Are all the proAmerican demrats dead?
Thanks for posting the DSA link, Reno. I had not read that doc in many years. It is a must read.
Here is an interesting excerpt that summarizes their tactics to control institutions, e.g. education, cable and social media, etc.
“If socialism cannot be achieved primarily from above, through a democratic government that owns, control and regulates the major corporations, then it must emerge from below, through a democratic transformation of the institutions of civil society, particularly those in the economic sphere — in other words, a program for economic democracy. “
I don’t think Bernie is going to be
alive, or at least have the stamina
in 7 years, when Ms Stalin turns 35.
Just a few years ago it was considered crazy talk to say the Democrats had a thing for socialism. Now they’re pretty open about it.
So now the great divide in the Western mind is revealed in America. That is, the divide between liberalism (the classical kind) and socialism, which is really about whether our rights come from God or the state.
Going to be fascinating to see how all this plays out. Interesting time to be alive.
There is that, but that is probably going to make her life hell in DC
There seems to be a mindset here that the collectivists can’t gain traction because they don’t have the votes.
Collectivists have two means of takeover: votes or violence.
If they can’t do it one way, they’ll do the other.
I think most of us are on the same page that the emergence of these flaming Marxists *in the current election cycle* is going to hurt, not help the Dems, and chuckle at the thought.
But at the risk of sounding a distant alarm; let us not forget that ways of socialism are to make incremental gains against liberty which annoyingly become more and more mainstream as times passes.
3, 4, or 10 election cycles from now; these views will be mainstream.
Just sayin’.

Perez trying to get his daughters out of their student loan debt?
“future of our party”
It is their future, but I wasn’t expecting them to admit it until after 2020.
A moron elected by morons.
Good. Hope this is the DNC future ‘cause it won’t last long.
What he’s trying to say is, all Hispanic. The future face of the party like “Antonio”, right Nancy? LOL.
Make her or Mad Maxine minority leader.
