You can see it as an anti-Trump thing, the MSM will spin it big in the hours ahead as repudiation of Trump, but the winner was as much an outsider in Mexican politics as Trump was in US politics in 2016 so that would be my take.
This is why Mexicans and other Hispanics are so valued by the Democrats. It’s how they can be counted on to vote.
The “winner” is a Chavista who is being elected because the Mexicans have tried everyone else but they were too corrupt. He has spoken of pardoning the drug cartels and refusing to fight the heavily armed Narcos using the military. They’ll hand it back to the regular law enforcement... who themselves are also the biggest gangs.

I am very worried about the future of Mexico. It was not all that great before but it will quick fall into the abyss and millions new “refugees” demanding free education, housing, food, and medical care.
It really might be smart to have a wall built BEFORE they become Venezuela, or devolve into civil war. How would 5 or 10 million a month crossing the border look?

What difference does it make who they voted for? Mexico is already a failed state and the new guy will not change that. Most of the people who did vote for him, as well as those who didn’t, are looking to futures in the US, which they can enter at will due to our inability to build a border wall.
