President Trump on Friday said he has narrowed his list of potential Supreme Court nominees to about five, including two women, and plans to announce his pick on July 9.
Ive got it narrowed to about five, he told reporters on Air Force One en route to his New Jersey golf club, where he said he plans to interview one or two candidates this weekend.
Trump said he would interview six to seven candidates in total, saying, "I like them all."
We have great people, Trump said of his short list. Highly talented, brilliant, mostly conservative judges.
Trumps comments are the latest sign he is moving rapidly to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, who announced his retirement this week. Kennedy's retirement does not become official until July 31.
A July 9 announcement would come just before Trump leaves for a six-day trip to Europe and could set up a potential confirmation vote as early as the fall.
The vacancy has given Trump an opportunity to solidify conservative control of the nations highest court.

A smart and successful (and good looking to boot) working mother with *7* children and a conservative as heck - the lib’s head will explode.
Interesting question and the answer is yes. Happened under Eisenhower.
Interviewed last April at her law school alma mater, following her Court of Appeals investiture (which was apparently attended by at least a subset of her kids):

Methinks she would be big trouble for Progress.
Watch a former Minnesota maggot grill her:

I'll venture a guess, she's the one.
I’m surprised that the term “short list” isn’t seen as some sort of sexist remark regarding the average woman’s height being several inches shorter than the average man’s height.
I think we need a very conservative woman on the Supreme Court. It would be a first and she could serve as a legitimate role model for women these days. It is desperately needed.
It is my view that the nomination of a very conservative woman is a certainty
The question is when? Now or next time as the replacement for RBG?
I’ll be blunter, NO Women for the near future, too many there already , too much hormones in one room.
So are Sen Mike Lee and Brother Thomas Lee Utah Supreme Court Justice, Rex Lee Regan’s Solicitor General is their father.
Yeah I’m sure there’s lots that I don’t know, but that looks like the choice.
