Dang!
A bit of that rug fiber is STILL flossing my tooth!
The left’s hatred for anything above the worship of the state. The left simply has no place for individual, God given, rights. If we can’t get the crooked lawyers and judges out of power, this course will never be diverted.
Yup. Just like all non-believers. I have never seen a crowd so determined to prove the non-existence of a God they don’t even believe in. Atheists spend and waste more time trying to prove there is no God, and they don’t even believe in God. Stupid is as stupid does.
Yessir!
Also, because the 1st Amendment forbids Congress fro passing any law that has anything to do with the free exercise of religion, all laws that have been passed that do that ought to be thrown out.
Some of those are the education laws and the IRS law that forbids pastors of incorporated churches from preaching political issues.
Exactly.
You are the light of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house. So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)
Yes, it would be. One cannot be forced to join a prayer, but one should be free to say one publicly, regardless of what prayer it is.
It is getting to the point where the prayer will be:
“Praise the Lord & Pass the Ammunition”.
Wonder that liturgical season that rainbow stole it is wearing is for?
“But what is a ‘normal American prayer’?”
To me, it would be patterned after prayers said before government meetings in the 1700s.
Indeed the whole point of the 1st ammedment was to prevent scumbag infringement upon the practice or establishment of religion like this.
Key word there is Congress which refers to the federal not state leglsiator.
For context most of the states had different establish state religions at the time, and would contenue to do so until shortly before he civil war.
The point was to keep the federal government from interfearing with that.
I think it is mentioned in either Genesis 13:13 or Romans 1:26-27.
Perhaps both...
Perhaps those indivuduals in the Supreme Court are waiting until after President Trump’s picks two or 3 more Supreme Court appointments who are conservative strict constitionalists to hear this case in the future and make it a over whelming decision so that even the states can’t challenge it.

Who is that person in the photo?
>> If the prayer is to God, that would encompass all religions <<
Not necessarily. A lot of Bhuddist experts will say there is no “god” — but rather some kind of universal world goodness that encompasses all living beings, plus spirits of the dead.
On the other hand, most Bhuddists also show a wide tolerance toward other religions. So they are very unlikely to object to public prayer by non-Bhuddists.
(In fact, they may even encourage it, because they often will say that “all religions” are good.)
Separation of church and state is a creation of modern day activist judges. Any decision based on it is therefore flawed.
I agree-
