I was already sitting on the Trump train when he walked down the elevator. Everyone else is too late to the party to be a true believer...

HOORAY AJ

It occurred to me several weeks after he announced, I did my own research on him...The Art of the Deal mainly and familiarity of the media...that he was going to be the next president. I still remember saying to the family, "Remember this day, August 14, 2015. Donald Trump is the next president."

That whole lobbing missiles into Syria during Trumps first few weeks likely staved off a build-up of military forces designed to start war with US interests.

I knew that whole maneuver was WAY out of order. Now I’m sure of it - there was an impending attack on the US and Trump may have saved us all.

For now.

I always said that we had to vote for Trump as a matter of life and death for our kids.

But forgiveness is a Christian thing.

Oh, I forgive levine, even though that is up to Jesus.

I will not forget, however, that he is a moronic dickweed.

LOL!!!

That might be a little less than the complete forgiveness we get in Christ such that our sins are as far from us as the East is from the West.

Just research the Rush thread here on FR, and read the posts there from around a month before the election up to the convention.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Great. So it will be very easy for you to post ONE DIRECT QUOTE from Rush prior to the election that advocates against Trump for president.

His influence was used against us.

Now you tout him for his ability to influence.

Does that make sense to you?

I agree with your take there.

I view this as totally different than what Clinton and McCain had in mind though.

They wanted a full on attack of the Russians in Syria.

That was an unhinged idea > IMO. They wanted a full on war with Russia.

I am not “touting” him.

I am simply stating a reality.

I was leery of the guy at first. I took a couple of months to go all in. I never bashed him, but I had reservations.

It’s my take you don’t bash a guy you may need down the line. Now if they have betrayed you during a battle, then forget it. If they differ with you on point when there’s (realative) peace, then it’s okay to spar.

Trump’s platform was great, and he was defending it constantly. The one time he made a mistake about letting all Muslims in, he corrected himself the next morning.

When is the last time we’ve had someone correct themselves EVER, let alone within 12 hours.

During his conversations, I’d hear him touching on peripheral issues that nobody talks about. And when he did, he sounded just like us, knowing all the nuances of those topics.

After noting that sort of thing a number of times, I knew he was far more Conservative than people had thought. I knew we had a winner.

How could folks still be dumping on him as of September of 2016? Honestly I don’t get it. And refusing to do anything more than give a few minutes of cosmetic support a few days before the election? Seriously?

Trump and the nation deserved better than it got from some people.

What Conservative could possibly not see the danger Hillary represented, and by that time how good Trump actually was?

It baffles me how some of these guys thought they were going to get away with what they were doing.

I give a person room to grow. He definitely was a NeverTrump-er, but maybe he’s recognized he was wrong.

Know what? His job, 24/7, is to get his punditry right. He got the biggest political decision, maybe in the last 50 years, dead wrong. What does that make him worth?

You've never made a mistake?

I didn’t say it was factually WRONG. I said it was MISLEADING. Levin was angry at having been personally attacked, and pressed heavily for Trump to defeat Clinton. Because he recognized that if he were to continue to oppose Trump, he would help Clinton pick Supreme Court nominees.

Look, I’m not saying Levin is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I very strongly disagree with him on a few issues very central to Trump’s presidency. For instance, he hates Trump’s tariffs wars; I think what Trump is doing is brilliant and entirely necessary. And he goes on and on and on and on about his constitutional convention, which is perhaps the dumbest single proposal any conservative ever made. (Yeah, today’s mind-addled statists will do a MUCH better job writing a constitution than our founding fathers did!) But whereas it was very reasonable in April, 2016 to say that Levin was a Never-Trumper, it’s simply false today, and it was false at the time of the general elections.
