Yup. Regardless, I want to see a judge appointed, not a politician.

No thanks, Senator Lee. President Trump’s choice will do just fine. Nice of him to put you on the list but that’s as close to those robes as you gonna get.

Noting that I’m actually okay with Sen. Lee becoming a justice, consider the following rant.

Given that the post-17th Amendment ratification Senate is the most unconstitutionally powerful office in the land imo, I don’t recall where Sen. Lee has publicly complained about the Senate passing unconstitutional bills, House appropriations bills for example.

Will somebody please refresh my memory?

Republicans want open borders for cheap labor
Democrats want open borders for cheap labor and their votes
Mormons want open borders for cheap labor and their Souls as slaves on their imaginary planets in the afterlife.

Gee- that would be swell- He’d vote liberal all the time to ‘protest vote’ against Donald Trump

How would his Senate seat get filled if he went to the Supremes?

I don’t want to lose a single Republican Senator, no matter how qualified for the Supreme Court. We have too thin a margin right now.

Trump didn't take Mike Lee's advice in 2016. Why should he court it now?
October 8, 2016:
Sen. Mike Lee urges Trump to quit, as Utah Republicans abandon their party’s nominee
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), one of very few Republican senators who never endorsed Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, called tonight for the nominee to “step aside” and asked conservatives to find a new candidate. Echoing many Republicans who see Trump handing the presidency to Hillary Clinton, Lee said that the candidate’s insults of women were distracting from election-winning principles.

I’m no expert on Mike Lee. I’ll state that right here.

When I sought to look up what he has been involved in, this article popped up. It troubles me.

Sen. Mike Lee pushes back against Trump administration’s claim it had authority for airstrikes

Here is a guy we want to review what is Constitutional and what isn’t.

It didn’t take me thirty seconds to find a case where he was already in over his head, and on a simply issue like the CIC’s ability to use our military at times without pre-Congressional notification.

This is something that has been discussed many times over the years. Reagan, Clinton, Bush... It has always been accepted that presidents do have the right to use our military in instances where a surprise is important.

Can a president declare a war? When it comes to declared wars, I do believe Congress has to be involved.

That’s not what Lee was talking about.

I am not convinced this guy is able to judge what is Constitutional and what isn’t.

Nominate Ted Cruz for Kennedy’s seat, that would make the liberals go nuts.

Mike Lee is a “never Trumper” and did not vote for Trump. Now the establishment feels Trump should put him on the Supremes........I think not. Lee blew it.

Thapar is a good choice. Besides being from Kentucky- thus will be pushed by the Turtle - he is Indian. California, NY, and NJ have the largest Indian populations in the US. Would love to see those Senators openly oppose the first Indian to be nominated to the SC. It would be political death.

ANyone who voted for mcmuffin as a “protest vote” against Trump, isn’t mature enough to be a Supreme Justice.

Here's Why Trump Should Oblige

And here's why Trump shouldn't; there are better choices out there.
