This is right up there with uber lib Austin's ban on plastic bags and ban on arresting blacks for smoking pot and other minor crimes.

But they roll out the welcome mat for illegals.

Without even making the illegals sign a pledge that they will never use plastic! What a chicken outfit.

Is this the same company that sells Stubbs BBQ sauce in the grocery stores?

“Hey doc...it hurts when I do this.”

Doc: “Then, don’t do *this*”.

Just don’t go to Stubbs, or, if you must, stop by Kroger and get a whole box of plastic straws and hand them out to the crowd. Make sure you throw them on the floor as you leave the venue.

Sometimes, the push subsides when you decide to PUSH BACK.

If they didn’t put fifty tons of ice in the cups to save money on the drink, we wouldn’t need straws.

He’s being PC to buy time for himself. He knows the same environmental arguments will someday be used to outlaw selling beef and then he’ll either fold or go broke selling beans and slaw.

It’s Austin trying to be SF!

Pandering to their market or bragging about another way to cut their expenses and maintain or improve their bottom line? I’m sure I’ve been through Austin, but I can’t recall every stopping there for anything. General rule when travelling around Texas is avoid Austin and Houston. Don’t need the hassle of liberals running amuck.

Ever notice that folks who would not normally use straws at home almost always peel and use them in restaurants?
