After canceling the comedy following star Roseanne Barr's racist tweet, the Disney-owned network has found a way to move forward with the original cast, creators and likely crew as 'The Conners.'
Weeks after its stunning decision to cancel Roseanne, ABC is officially moving forward with a spinoff of TV's current No. 1 series — without controversial star Roseanne Barr.
Following aggressive talks with exec producer Tom Werner, the Disney-owned broadcaster has handed out a 10-episode, straight-to-series order for Roseanne spinoff The Conners (working title). The new take, which will also be a multicamera comedy and premiere in the fall, will follow the Conner family who, after a sudden turn of events, are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before.

It will be just as good as the Barney Miller spinoff, “Fish” or Sanford & Son, “Grady”
Nobody will watch. Chances are it will revolve around the homosexual that looks like a meth addict.
This may be like ‘All In The Family’, but without Archie.
In that case, there were many successful spinoffs;
The Jeffersons, Maude, Good Times and others, but each show had a star with a strong personality who was appealing to the majority of viewers. Not someone famous for being an annoying nag and not much else.

This is basically Hollywood level unemployment compensation for the cast, staff and crew who all lost their jobs when Disney was ordered by Michelle Obama to fire Rosanne.
Great. Another show I will make a conscious effort to never watch.
My daughter and I loved the original show back in the day and I was enjoying the remake. It was actually tackling some interesting issues while still being funny.
Trying to remake it without Roseanne is just sick and no one will watch it; I certainly won’t.
It illustrates the hypocrisy of the left to penalize Roseanne while continuing to support really nasty people like Peter Fonda.
Don’t watch this piece of dung.

Needless to say, the show was taken off the air shortly thereafter. Freddie Prinze was the only one that could pull off Chico. Just like Roseanne Barr is the only one who can pull off Roseanne.
Good. ABC needs to take another massive financial loss.
