I thought white people were evil. I was wrong. Whenever anyone mentions the historical atrocity of chattel slavery, white people will emerge from the dark crevices of humanity to gnaw away at the assertion like roaches on a discarded Cheeto. They will explain how most white people didnt own slaves. They will offer a convoluted explanation about the Confederacy and Southern heritage. They will introduce the concept of presentismthe idea that we shouldnt judge the actions of people in the past using modern-day standardsas if the white people of the past couldnt quite grasp the idea of inhumanity and brutality until 1861.
Everyone knew that slavery was evil. Everyone knew that Jim Crow was evil. Everyone knew that lynching was evil. Everyone knows that any kind of injustice or inequality is evil. These things persist because most white people dont actively fight to eradicate them.
And most white people dont actively fight to eradicate inequality and injustice because they usually benefit in some small way. The Southern economy was built on evil slavery. Jim Crow laws maintained a national order with white people firmly planted atop the social hierarchy. Systematic injustice keeps black people in their place, but it also comforts white people to know that the big black bogeymen are being kept behind bars...
...They know the reality of disproportionate police brutality, but they dont have to worry about their children being shot in the face. Their kids receive good educations. Their kids can wear hoodies whenever they please. Little Amber and Connors résumés dont get tossed in the trash because of their black-sounding names. Their childrens futures are determined only by work ethic and ability. Therefore, they stay silent on the sidelines.
Thats not evil.
That is cowardice.

Bravo! Post of the thread.
Amen!
Heck, I like to "join in on the fun!"
Somebody calls me "racist," I call them "pedophile." "Rapist" is pretty good too.

If I had a DeLorean time machine I would go back I would show all the evidence of the bullshit we’re dealing with today to the people on both sides of the Civil War tell him to stop fighting cuz the juice ain’t worth the squeeze
So people who have never felt the sting of the whip are blaming people for slavery that have never whipped anyone in their lives.
?????
Don't gotta education, it's the White Man's fault
Don't gotta good job, it's the White Man's fault
Crips killed my brotha, it's the White Man's fault
My mamma, she poor, it's the White Man's fault
Bloods killed my cousin, it's the White Man's fault
Addicted to crack, it's the White Man's fault
Got fo' diffrent babies with three diffrent mamas, it's the White Man's fault, it's the White Man's fault
Gonna get reparations, I be votin' for Obama, it's the White Man's fault, it's the White Man's fault
The existence of white people is the cause of inequality.
Ending inequality means ending white people.
Do a lot of people believe slavery was invented around 1600 by Europeans due to racism? Is that what people think?
This guy has no idea how non full of cowardice we are.
We choose to act like civilized human beings, to his advantage.
Alas, if this doesn’t work and in time other things are called for, there will be lots of dead people. Some of them aren’t going to be White.
As much as I detest what he guy ushered in, Rodney King had it right in the end. “Can’t we all just get along?”
The question points to the idea that we should accept each other and concentrate on bettering ourselves. Get an education and join the rest of civilization working for a living.
While you’re contemplating doing this, please don’t think of this as a White man’s world. It’s a world waiting for you (no matter what your color, race, or heredity is) to make a positive impact on it.
This is the human race. Join it with the rest of us.
It’s what they’ve been told. And of course the United States was the only nation to use slaves. /s
It was a despicable practice. It has always been around. Today it still exists, but not in the U.S. None the less, you never hear slavery trashed where it still exists.
Instead the Left pumps out lies, and the misinformed buy them lock stock and barrel.
Nor did he mention that 99% of the thugs on NYC’s gang list are minorities. Of course, stats are racist and stuff.
It’s much more than that. Most non black people notice/experience black racism, however subtle. And then there’s the criminality which NO ONE wants to mention publicly, but which EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT. Just look at housing patterns and schools and business districts to see, it’s evident and has been and always will be.
My white liberal friends wouldn’t think of living in a minority neighborhood. Hell, they bitched when nice Asian families were moving in. But in the next breath, here they are voting Dim in spite of their kids getting screwed out of employment and academic opps all in the name of “diversity”
Michael Harriot is a lowly 50 IQ race pimp.
I got a steak dinner bet that this simpleton weighs about 130 lbs, lives in his mommy’s basement, plays video games all day and would run away from a fight with a cub scout.
Some people have a big mouth with no cash to back it up.
Yep
Where to begin.
“I thought white people were evil. I was wrong. Whenever anyone mentions the historical atrocity of chattel slavery, white people will emerge from the dark crevices of humanity to gnaw away at the assertion like roaches on a discarded Cheeto.”
Roaches do not have teeth to gnaw with, and they generally disregard artificial food like Cheetos. The author may be thinking of rats, but in a Freudian way he is desperately avoiding a symbol that often represents his political party—DemocRATS.
“They will explain how most white people didnt own slaves. They will offer a convoluted explanation about the Confederacy and Southern heritage. They will introduce the concept of ‘presentism’the idea that we shouldn’t judge the actions of people in the past using modern-day standardsas if the white people of the past couldn’t quite grasp the idea of inhumanity and brutality until 1861.”
No, we don’t. While “presentism” might be relevant to understanding WHY people acted the way they did, it is not a justification for it. And it might also explain how someone who was anti-slavery might “own” a slave in order to provide and protect people rather than to abuse them.
A word we often use is “collectivism” which is the idea of placing everyone into groups and evaluating the merits of the individuals based on the actions of their group. This is the basis for racism and Marxism.
For the same reason my white ancestors were abolitionists, I am against blaming people today for the actions of their ancestors. Otherwise, I would want to hold blacks accountable for their raping, white, slave-owning ancestors. And I would want reparations for the sacrifices my ancestors made to defeat their slave-owning, rapist ancestors.
But because I am not a collectivist I do not expect reparations, nor am I a racist. As a conservative I hold each individual to be responsible for his or her own actions. This concept is called “personal responsibility”. Odd how rare that phrase is used by race mongers.
“Everyone knew that slavery was evil. Everyone knew that Jim Crow was evil. Everyone knew that lynching was evil. Everyone knows that any kind of injustice or inequality is evil. These things persist because most white people dont actively fight to eradicate them.”
Everyone knows killing babies, ripping them apart, and selling their body parts is evil. But the left screeches like demons whenever there is a hint that they might be forced to reduce their demonic bloodlust-driven murders. And leftists like this author are an incredibly reliable vote for the abortionists.
Slavery ended precisely BECAUSE enough WHITE people decided to end it. Wherever white people are in charge, slavery has been abolished. Wherever white people are not in charge is where we see legalized slavery or open human trafficking and prostitution.
That’s not to credit ALL white people. Again, I’m not a collectivist. I’m merely exposing the hypocrisy of those who blame white people for the problems of other races, ethnicities, and nationalities.
But today, it is still white people who are leading the fight against injustice and inequity in the world. But we have to deal with people like this who blame us for the crimes of other white people. I do not blame blacks or any other groups for crimes they did not commit. I only blame the individuals.
“And most white people don’t actively fight to eradicate inequality and injustice because they usually benefit in some small way.”
It does not matter what MOST people of a group do. What matters is what individuals do.
“The Southern economy was built on evil slavery. Jim Crow laws maintained a national order with white people firmly planted atop the social hierarchy. Systematic injustice keeps black people in their place, but it also comforts white people to know that the big black bogeymen are being kept behind bars.”
The wealth created or transferred by slavery has long since been destroyed through the Civil War, subsequent taxation, and the establishment of fiat currency. There may be some pockets of family wealth that was accumulated through slavery, but most white people do not benefit from that. And many blacks are descendants of white slave owners.
But to irrational idiots like this author, their black genetics offsets and absolves them from the wrongdoing of their white ancestors. But my white ancestors who were always abolitionists, and fought to free slaves, and never owned any slaves, still do not absolve my guilt of being white. Being white, the same color as a small percentage of slave owners over the past few centuries, is a crime in and of itself, regardless of my actions or the actions of my ancestors.
“They know the reality of disproportionate police brutality, but they dont have to worry about their children being shot in the face. Their kids receive good educations. Their kids can wear hoodies whenever they please. Little Amber and Connors résumés don’t get tossed in the trash because of their black-sounding names. Their children’s futures are determined only by work ethic and ability. Therefore, they stay silent on the sidelines.”
It may be true that Laquisha Smith is at a disadvantage because of her name. But that is not only the fault of any racist whites in HR (which I would contest is fairly rare), but is more due to such a woman’s ancestry. She might be a Smith due to a white forefather. He might have been a raping slaveowner. Or the name could have come through some other means. But her own parents chose her first name. And that’s a shame in my opinion. If a person feels their name gives them a disadvantage in life, perhaps they should legally change it. Otherwise, they should embrace it as part of their unique story and accept that in life there are people who will misjudge them for things other than actual character. (And one such person is the author of this article.) Some people might dislike a person because the person is named Sean, because every Sean he or she ever knew was a jerk. And that is also biased, though not racially biased. And it is a fact of life.
White people, have to be concerned over the rising police state due to the tyrannical left that people like this author have empowered through their criminal stupidity. We also have to worry over race-motivated attacks by blacks and other minorities which is fostered by propaganda like this article. Further, poor and middle-income whites know they will be bumped down the list for many scholarships and job opportunities and promotions in order to make things “equal”. There are scholarships for blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and foreign nationals, but only would a scholarship for white people be considered racist.
“That’s not evil. That is cowardice.”
I reject your [the author’s] backhanded complement. I don’t need it. And I don’t deserve the condescension. Your constant attempts to draw attention away from character and onto the color of people’s skin is evil. It’s also very stupid and tiresome.
The biggest reason for me to feel pity toward blacks is not the history of slavery. Many rise above this. It is not anything intrinsic to the nature of blacks such as criminal inclination or the inability to learn. Many rise to the challenge here as well. My biggest cause for feeling pity toward blacks is the constant leftist coddling and victimization that demeans ALL black people and stirs up racial animosity on all sides.
Leftists are evil.
Booker T. Washington (18651915) warned of such people within the black community in his 1911 book My Larger Education. He described them as problem profiteers:
There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. (p. 118)
Washington continues with a story that encapsulates what is wrong with so many black leaders and their guilt-ridden white supporters. Those victimizing blacks are other blacks:
A story told me by a coloured man in South Carolina will illustrate how people sometimes get into situations where they do not like to part with their grievances. In a certain community there was a coloured doctor of the old school, who knew little about modern ideas of medicine, but who in some way had gained the confidence of the people and had made considerable money by his own peculiar methods of treatment. In this community there was an old lady who happened to be pretty well provided with this worlds goods and who thought that she had a cancer. For twenty years she had enjoyed the luxury of having this old doctor treat her for that cancer. As the old doctor became thanks to the cancer and to other practice pretty well-to-do, he decided to send one of his boys to a medical college. After graduating from the medical school, the young man returned home, and his father took a vacation. During this time the old lady who was afflicted with the cancer called in the young man, who treated her; within a few weeks the cancer (or what was supposed to be the cancer) disappeared, and the old lady declared herself well.
When the father of the boy returned and found the patient on her feet and perfectly well, he was outraged. He called the young man before him and said: My son, I find that you have cured that cancer case of mine. Now, son, let me tell you something. I educated you on that cancer. I put you through high school, through college, and finally through the medical school on that cancer. And now you, with your new ideas of practicing medicine, have come here and cured that cancer. Let me tell you, son, you have started all wrong. How do you expect to make a living practicing medicine in that way?
I am afraid that there is a certain class of race problem solvers who dont want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.
If the patient gets well, an entire industry of victimhood will get cancer and die. This would be the best thing for the black community. Until blacks throw off the shroud of victimhood, they will be at the mercy of doctors who treat a cancer that does not exist but that they are paying for.
Articles like this sure make a guy like me feel warm and fuzzy about Blacks.
