Jeff Sessions: ‘Real Proud’ of FBI Director Wray’s Testimony on DOJ IG Report

Attorney General Jeff Sessions praised FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony on the Justice Department Inspector General report while discussing immigration and law enforcement in Scranton, Pennsylvania Friday.

“I was real proud of Chris Wray, the new director of the FBI, yesterday for his statements on the IG report,” Sessions told Lackawanna College. “We’re not going to be defensive. We’re going to confront any problems, and we’re going to deal with them one-by-one, in a proper, fair, and appropriate way.”

“We’re going to reaffirm and recommit ourselves to the first ideals of that great agency — the FBI — One of the greatest investigative agency, maybe the greatest in the history of the world, as far as I’m concerned,” he added. “If we make a mistake, we’re going to confront it.”

Wray defended the FBI Thursday in response to a scathing inspector general report that heavily criticized the actions of his predecessor in the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

Wray said the report only addresses a specific set of facts and the actions of a handful of officials. He says “nothing” in the report “impugns” the integrity of the FBI workforce as a whole.

Trump liked to too. What say you about him???

Trump isn’t selling us out. Sessions has (and is).

I can’t imagine why Trump would be supporting Wray. It took me about three seconds of hearing that weasel on TV to feel repulsed by him. For that matter, like everyone else, I have no idea why he hasn’t fired Sessions - Congress be damned, he should have done that a year ago when the POS recused himself and caused this endless “investigation” of a non-crime.

We had the same problem with Chester Trent Lott of neighboring MS — nothing ultimately really conservative about him! Made his predecessor, BDole, look better in comparison.

Dittos Miss Marmelstein. I can’t even stand the sound of his voice. What an enormous error Trump made by choosing this loser.

He is acts like the type I would never have allowed near my combat tested NCO’s or Montagnards. He seems like the type guy an SF SGM would keep an eye on for several weeks doing minor tasks.

“Wray’s a wrat...

No question, this guy is a typical lying government stooge.”

Wray, the man with the s**t-eating grin. When he came on the scene, and I saw that grin, I knew that he was going to be a disaster. Three of Trump’s mistakes have been Sessions, Tillerson and Wray. Of course he has some damn good ones such as Pompeo, Mattis, Halley, and most of the others.

I wonder why Trump has not taken any action regarding at least Sessions but then I figure that he has far better info than I do and is a far better chess player.

Listening to Wray yesterday one could conclude he is a swamp creature.

The FBI, if it is to regaining any honor must have leadership, immediately, not warm fuzzy group hugs and 'now now darlings'.

Wray's response was disgusting and impotent. Time for him to go, too.

You give him too much slack. Sessions was a prosecutor before going into politics. He actually dealt with crimes. He can’t get his eyes open now far enough, by choice to d3efend the swamp, to see the criminal bastard Rosencrime, much less the Mueller treachery.

Wray also said the report found “errors in judgment” and policy violations, but it found no evidence of political bias or improper consideration “actually impacting the investigations under review.”

that’s what Wray said and it is a cover up of the magnitude of the Warren Report. Anyone who can’t see the bias should not be working in a position of authority in the US. You don’t need conviction evidence to form reasonable conclusions based on facts. Inferences, reasonable suspicion, probable cause, preponderance of evidence, clear and convincing and beyond a shadow of a doubt are all evidence of different levels and to say no evidence is a plain boldface lie.

Appearance of conflict of interest are to be avoided much less real conflicts. Everyone in the top of DOJ and FBI And Special Counsel appear to be conflicted. Why didn’t they recuse themselves?

I have been on the fence about Sessions, hoping he would come through, but his being proud of Wray just killed that for me. Wray should have given a fire and brimestone speech promising to leave no stone unturned to right the ship. Instead he wants to give some training and sees no evidence of bias...people either have ethics and principles and are honest by the time they are 30 or they almost never will...

these people have no shame.

the FBI and DOJ are regularly investigating police departments for alleged wrongdoing and getting consent decrees, but who investigates the FBI? more swamp dwellers.
How about a consent decree from the FBI to eliminate bias of all types and return fairness to investigations and prosecutions. Start with Mueller.

Lady Justice has had her sword stuck in her back by the FBI, her blindfold ripped off her face by the DOJ and her scales tilted by Hillary and other politicians. Sad times in the divided States of America

What was the whole “quote”? What did the “report” actually say?
