President Trump Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize by Norwegian Lawmakers

U.S. President Donald Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in reaching an agreement to work toward de-nuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

The U.S leader was nominated by two members of Norway’s governing Progress Party, according to state broadcaster NRK. The deadline for this year’s prize passed in January, so this nomination would make him eligible for next year. It is unclear whether he was nominated for this year’s prize.

Nominations for the world’s most coveted prize are open to lawmakers, academics and researchers from around the world. The Nobel Committee in Oslo typically receives hundreds of nominations each year, and past candidates have also included Russian President Vladimir Putin and Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro. A record 330 people were nominated this year.

While the Norwegian Nobel committee is appointed by parliament, it’s decisions are independent. Trump was nominated by two right-wing members of Norway’s Progress Party, which advocates for limited immigration and lower taxes.

The Prize needs Trump a lot more than Trump needs the Prize. The credibility of the Prize is already dangling by a thread. To deny it to Trump would finish it off and turn it into a total laughingstock.

Trump is not eligible to receive the NPP.

My understanding is that NPP’s are awarded prior to doing anything great, not after.

The NBPP has lost its luster over the years, fairly often it did reward someone for doing substantial work for the world....but awarding someone for doing nothing but being a different color was to me, astounding.

On 12 May 2008, Irena Sendlerowa (commonly known as Irena Sendler) passed away of pneumonia at the age of 98 in Warsaw. Her death prompted the circulation of an online message aimed at informing the many people who remained unfamiliar with her heroic deeds during the Holocaust:

During WWII, Iliana, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto.

She had an ulterior motive…

She KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews.

Iliana smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger kids).

She also had a dog in the back, that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in, and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs, and arms, and beat her severely.

Iliana kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out, and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the family.

Most of course had been gassed.

Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes, or adopted.

Last year Iliana was up for the Nobel Peace Prize….

She LOST.

The Nobel Peace Prize is ultimately awarded by five leftist Norwegian guys. There is no chance they will ever award it to Trump, and why would he even want it?
