Agreed. I wish Cruz had supported Trump. He didn’t.
That said I understand he’s been an excellent Senator for the people of TX and votes “our way” virtually all of the time. No doubt he leads the charge from time to time.
To have him “primaried” successfully would have made our enemies ecstatic and was not really what he deserves. He failed to support Trump, was even negative about him (I mean he was running for the nomination himself). That’s not the unforgiveable sin at this point.
What you said!
Anti-Cruz activists will always be anti-Cruz activists. They love being jerks, every time Cruz comes up on FR. JR allows them to continue their antics, sadly.
If Donald Trump was not personally proof that a person can emerge (and fairly rapidly at that) from a checkered background and turn in a very decent performance, I don’t know what modern example is.
If Ted Cruz is catching the new tune, we need to be praising the Lord — same as what we needed and need to be doing when Donald Trump did and has been. Donald acted tangibly as though he had gotten a vision. It may have been initially filtered through what he had been, but again, visions transform a person too. And visions can transform Ted Cruz. Cruz struck me as wooden in the past, but it can change. Also if we want America to change, putting examples before it of people who are changing is hardly the worst example of the power of the Spirit of God that could occur.
Beware the deep, deep pit of self-fulfilling prophecies. They are a slap in God’s face, among other things.
Well said.
That was a great rant. All freepers should try to work together for the good of the country.
As I recall Trump made some very unkind remarks about Cruz and his wife and father. Attacking someone policies or beliefs is one thing but to make unfounded and rather ugly accusations about one family is something totally different. But I also recall Cruz making phone calls for trump durning the election. Go Figure.
(I mean he was running for the nomination himself). Thats not the unforgiveable sin at this point.

It is if you care about the Constitution.
Cubanadians are not natural born citizens of the USA.
In NH Cruz aired an ad saying that Trump had gotten rich by throwing old ladies out of their homes via imminent domain. It was a 100% lie. It was unconscionable and disgraceful.
Every die-hard Conservative should grasp the truth in that.

Sadly we have plenty of people who claim to cherish the Constitution who want to make Anwar Al-Awlaki’s kids eligible to be President.
They were born of one American citizen in a foreign country, just as eligible as Ted Cruz.
Six years down the road, 2024 will be an interesting election
year for President assuming President Trump serves a 2nd term.
Cruz will be finishing his 2nd term as Senator and will have
to make the call to run for President or Senator again.
He could be a great Senator for Texas.
As far as I am concerned he cannot be President.
He is not a natural born citizen.
I hear you re cubanadians I was talking more about politically, of course men for fighting for a nomination are going to be critical of one another.
Agreed, nomination fights can get rough.
There are quite a few of us that will not vote for ineligible candidates, even if we agree with them.
RE: Sorry Ted. Every good thing you listed right there, it was because the rest of us didnt act as you did in 2016.
Exactly what did he do other than run for President? And why is that a bad thing?
I can’t argue with that. That issue has not been central to my criticism of him, but I have not found a lot of fault, in the arguments against him being a citizen.
He refused to endorse Trump at the convention.
Then he spent about 1 hour the next 100 or so days before the convention actually doing something semi-productive to support Trump against Clinton.
If that’s all the Conservatism he has in him, he’s running on empty.
Honestly, at the heart of it all, Ted's lack of support for Mr. Trump is all we really need to know. Ted was my first choice, UNTIL I finally understood what was really happening. Ted belongs to Texas now. They decide.
