Fox News star Charles Krauthammer reveals he has weeks to live in heartbreaking letter

Charles Krauthammer, the beloved and brilliant Fox News Channel personality who gave up a pioneering career in psychiatry to become a Pulitzer Prize-winning political analyst, on Friday revealed the heartbreaking news that he is in the final stages of a losing battle with cancer.

The 68-year-old’s incisive takes on politics of the day have been missing from Fox News Channel’s “Special Report” for nearly a year as he battled an abdominal tumor and subsequent complications, but colleagues and viewers alike had held out hope that he would return to the evening show he helped establish as must-viewing. But in an eloquent, yet unblinking letter to co-workers, friends and Fox News Channel viewers, Krauthammer disclosed that he has just weeks to live.

“I have been uncharacteristically silent these past ten months,” the letter began. “I had thought that silence would soon be coming to an end, but I’m afraid I must tell you now that fate has decided on a different course for me.”

Mr. Krauthammer is exiting life's journey with dignity and class. Even if one disagrees with him on certain points, his bravery, determination and spirit cannot be denied.

Here is a guy who suddenly became paralyzed due to an accident in his 20's, but he never let it stop him. He simply modified his path in pursuit of a career in medicine by switching to psychiatry and ultimately transitioned into journalism /political commentary. How many of us (myself included) would have gone into a deep depression and simply given up in the face of such an obstacle as opposed to finding another path forward?

Godspeed Mr.Krauthammer. You are a class act and a role model for what you have overcome in order to achieve what you have achieved in this life.

He was born and reared Jewish and ascribed to a non Christian belief system all his life ending it by declaring his self image as a thoughtful agnostic

If you’d ask me in 1965 what Protestant views were on his acceptance into heaven the answer would be less ambiguous than today when folks just don’t do that anymore

Of course an epiphany would be a good thing for him

I became disenchanted with him, but not angry.

I was just sad I couldn’t enjoy his work anymore. I didn’t dwell on it, but...just stopped reading him, and that made me sad.

Class act for sure.

My views are not ambiguous. Without a saving faith in Jesus Christ he is completely and utterly lost for all eternity. I have prayed for him many times since hearing the news. I hope he finds the Truth in Jesus before it is to late.

Reminds me of the last days of Tony Snow.

A man whose mind and ability to articulate its ruminations has made this world incrementally more interesting to live in.

Hopefully, he’ll be doing op-eds on the Other Side too!

To me, Krauthammer became totally Establishment and #NeverTrump over the last several years, and I found his commentary over that period to be entirely predictable. Krauthammer could have been replaced by a computer simulation (programmed with GOPe cliches) once Donald. J. Trump arrived on the political scene...
