Eight months after his communist social media postings and conduct caused a conservative media firestorm, 2nd Lieutenant Spenser Rapone (better known as "the commie cadet") is reportedly being processed out of the Army with the most severe type of military administrative discharge -- an "other than honorable discharge."

Rapone, you may recall, is the avowed Marxist and Antifa supporter who posted pictures of himself on social media promoting pro-communist messages and expressing an intention to infiltrate the U.S. military.

He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in May of 2016, and had been serving in the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum in New York.

Oh, in that case he’ll probably be hired by the CIA as a GS-15 by the end of the month.

A “Big Chicken Dinner” discharge is the worst one.

You are correct.

My DD214 has the checkmark “yes” for the SGLI 100k coverage.

Attention whore. A real infiltrator would have kept his mouth shut.

It's tough to discharge a guy just for running his mouth on carefully chosen occasions. Tough, but not impossible.

That is interesting. I’ll have to check mine. thank you.

If that was explained to me, I don’t remember it. And I didn’t do it. Oh well.....

from the website:

There are two basic reasons-—one has to do with your eligibility to convert to VGLI as a retired or separated military member. The other has to do with the timing of your conversion to VGLI.

There’s a time limit on when you may convert from SGLI to VGLI. Veterans have one year and 120 days from the final service date listed on the DD Form 214 to make the conversion.

Servicemembers who apply to convert their SGLI to VGLI within 120 days of the separation date listed on the DD214 don’t have to provide evidence of good health. If you apply electronically you may not need a copy of your DD214, but those who file by mail must submit a copy of the DD Form 214 as part of the conversion process.

No forward deployment so he can’t come back and ‘protest’ about witnessing American soldiers treating citizens-of-the-world poorly.

Maybe the whole story is the Cover and he is already working for the Spooks. Likely recruited long ago.

Class of 2016. Still an O-1 after two years.

You have to have two years from commissioning before promotion to 1Lt. Two years more before Captain.

This commie was commissioned about May 2016 and since he got himself into trouble the Army did not place him on the promotion list for May 2018.

He should be reduced in rank to E-1 and made to fulfill his service commitment. No need wasting his WP remittance. He can stay E-1 until that is paid off.

According to something I read yesterday the punk is now in collusion with a group of conscientious objectors who are trying to convert as many active duty personnel as they can.

This punk is prior enlisted and already spent time in the Sandbox. The enlisted corps already has enough issues to have to deal with someone like this. Enlisted are honorable and do not need to have dirtbags being punished by placing then in the enlisted ranks. That is a slap in the face to enlisted folk and why people who are officers or getting kicked out of the Academy's or ROTC for bad behavior are never activated into the enlisted force.

"My task--the Party's task--was to organize defeat. From defeat would spring the Revolution...and the Revolution would be victory for us......The Party looked to the conscript peasants. Most of them were in their first good pair of boots. When the boots wore out, they'd be ready to listen. When the time came, I was able to take three battalions with me out of the front lines; the best day's work I ever did."

being processed out of the Army with the most severe type of military administrative discharge -- an "other than honorable discharge."

I did not realize that an OTH discharge was worse than a Bad Conduct discharge. Crimeny, I wish "journalists" would at least put a tiny bit of effort to get things right in their stories, instead of going for sensationalism at every turn..

Other Than Honorable Discharge is the worst you can get as an Administrative Discharge. A BCD takes a Courts Martial.

The article is correct.

Agree! He needs to repay his education costs for sure. They have gone after some for repayment of West Point, they really need to go after this guy.

I’m retired USAF, SMSgt, so I’m not disrespecting the enlisted corps as I was one.

I’ve known some young airman who failed at the USAFA but that was academic failure, and they were outstanding troops, but I do see your point.

I just hate how this whole thing was handled, and how he was able to get a free education with no payback.
