In this deeply liberal California city, frustration over crises around housing and homelessness is bringing some on the left a little further right.
At an upscale sushi restaurant, a few dozen members of the San Francisco Republican Party gathered on Tuesday night to watch the election results. Most did not want to talk about state or national politics, they wanted to keep it local.

I see what you did there.
A person has to be in a certain spiritual state to be a leftist. That state is sealed off from reality and alternate routes to making the world a better place.
San Fran is in that spiritual state.
Add in a huge dose of corruption and you have Kalifornia.................
” Carmel Harris or Fauxcahontas is Pres they will bail CA out in a hearbeat”
YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!!!!
look at new York city ,Chicago, detroit, ALL-
are looking at bailouts for their union thugs and
Slush fund cash for the next election-
I know millenials in both Sanfran and New York that think
the DIMMS are Great- their life sucks- NO MONEY SAVED- the new yorker does not own a car- the only common denominator?- spoon fed Main stream Media- ask them a question on economics or other world view- clueless
1984 Big Brother is here!
Know what I find funny about all of this? All these radicals are anti-establishment and Trump is anti-establishment. Yet they want the establishment to govern their lives.
Liberals are always jumping into the mosh pit after the crowd separates.
“But I dont see how rotating the Democratic crowd out will really come to fix much. Housing is permanently screwed up....homeless people would have to be marched out of town....and youd have to fix the budget problem (totally impossible).”
Rudy managed to do it in NYC. But it takes a really fed up population that has had enough. I’m not sure SF is there yet. It hasn’t quite hit bottom.
Yes it can, it has not worked quite like they want because the Republicans won't give them more money to complete their plan of Utopia for everyone. Those selfish hard working middle class Trump supporters have caused SF's decline due to their selfishness and greed wanting Trumps tax cuts.
A few dozen? I thought the SF Republican Party meets in the back of a VW Beetle!!
If you look at sf election results, r candidates for such things as lt governor, assembly to run against Pelosi, etc ran 9-15 percent. Trump got 9 percent of the s f vote last November.
So we are like 9-15 percent of the vote, here.
I hope soon it will be 25 to 30%. I think you might see a C change soon...
By reality, which has a way of slapping you upside the head when you stray from the path.
