It cannot go unsaid, however, that while Hemingway may have lived an enviable life, he suffered horribly as well, with deep depressive mood swings and drunkenness. But despite his tortured past, at 61 years of age, he appeared to have overcome his many demons. He was at the pinnacle of celebrity when he killed himself. He could have been no more successful or famous. He was a living legend. So why was that not enough for him?
Its when perfectionists fail to adapt that problems occur. This maladaptive perfectionism is one of the driving forces behind highly prosperous people who take their own lives.

Celebration for any member of the Council of Foreign Relations of the Bilderbergs—all evil to the core.
“The batshit absolutist Wayne LaPierre may not represent the vast majority of gun owners in this landbut if pushedif the conversation veers towards talk of taking away peoples gunsmany gun owners will shade towards himand away from us.”
Anthony Bourdain
Bourdain sure had plenty of nasty things to say about most of the Food Network Chefs especial Guy Fieri. He has also taken shots at Ina Garten, Paula Deen and Rachel Ray.
Bourdain was on the recently cancelled cooking show the Chew a couple years back. He and Mario Batali had a good old time taking a real cheap shot at Guy. Now Bourdain is dead, and Batali possibly heading to jail and Financial ruin for letting his little head do all the thinking.
Looks like Guy Feiri is the last man standing. Karma I guess.
“If this place isnt classy enough for you, leave.”
I got here before you.
Bye!

You sound like a three year old.
This place ceased to be classy with the Mormon bashing of the last decade.
Well said. Thank you for not backing down.
I think he was either arkancided or knows authorities were on to his, lets say, extra curricular activities, so he offed himself.
Excellent and informative shows... one of my favorites - but always a sense of a dark side and a continuous theme of self absorption and validation.
Thank you for reflecting and expanding on my point so beautifully.
Well said.
Me, I am going to celebrate yet another dead liberal.

Me, too.
Has anyone noticed that ALL of the intolerance on this thread comes from one side?
Look - you want to feel bad that some leftist asshole killed himself - go right ahead. Pray for his immortal soul or whatever makes you convince yourself that you’re somehow a wonderful human being. I don’t care. But why attack and try to shut down other people who have different opinions? Isn’t that what the left does?
“Well, maybe “classy” was the wrong term. But a modicum of respectfulness was had in the past. “
We are profoundly reverent and respectful when appropriate. And conversely.
Guy Fieri seems like a likeable guy with his head on straight. Anthony Bourdain always seemed somewhat whacked, even when he was doing noncontroversial subjects.
One of the four characteristics is after all, keeping up appearancesalways looking good, and happy, and successful on the outside even if your soul is dying on the inside. This is why its so difficult to know whats really going on with this type of person. They are so very good at hiding their hurt. You will think you really know them. You may even believe youre close when out of the blue, they take their own life.

There is this religion where the founder wanted to have sex with children and many women. Which religion am I speaking of, or are there multiple religions that have done that? There is nothing classy about that.
(Hint: Mormon and Islam were both started by someone of the same description.)
I dont think well ever truly understand how the human mind really works. You would think a man like Anthony Bourdain who had so much success as a chef, entrepreneur, tv personality and author would be happy with his life. Here I am tens of thousands in debt, struggling to meet bills, but filled with hope that better things lie ahead for me. Ive suffered from depression for many years, but I kicked the therapist and medication habit. It just made me even more miserable. I decided to live life with all its ups and downs, and realizing what a sacred gift it truly is!
“What the heck is a “boomer” anyways..? I always thought it was someone born between 1945 and 1950...(?)”
1945-1964 ?
1946 to 1964.
There are early boomers and late boomers.
I think the dividing line is 1957 or 1958.
