Faulkner is married and living on two paychecks, while Ms. Schairer is raising her children by herself. That gives the Faulkner family a profound advantage in income and nurturing time, and makes their children statistically more likely to finish college, find good jobs and form stable marriages.
Ms. Faulkner goes home to a trim subdivision and weekends crowded with childrens events. Ms. Schairers rent consumes more than half her income, and she scrapes by on food stamps.

I remember “the chat” with my son on the porch when he was 14. It was:
There is only one way to sequence your life:
1. Education
2. Job/career
3. Marriage
4. Home
5. Children
6. Stay married
It must be done in that sequence. Put any of them out of order, particularly #5, and you fall out of the middle class and are off the path to success.
So far at age 28, he’s accomplished 1-4 and is doing quite well. His younger brother is on #2, without current prospects for #3, but he’s a good guy and enjoying life as a singe Chemical Engineer. For now. And no, he does not live in our house.
Bump
Make Americans Dependent! did I get that right??
Schairer got faulked up and now wants Faulkner to share.
in today’s world there is No reason to become pregnant. between Condoms, the Pill, and IUDs you can make yourself almost 100% safe, (have an IUD and insists on condoms). I have known several girls who “accidentally” got pregnant. It never works out for the girl, If you’re going to play around, play safe. And Guys, it can destroy you to.
Ummm....I think they knew how this works.
This article was written in 2012, a few months before the election. Of course the takeaway from this should be “Don’t be an ass. Get married to a good partner before you have children”. But what they try push on the reader is “Hey, married people have it better and that’s not fair so everybody else should clean up the messes of people who make bad choices”.
Snowflakes.
> “Has the NY Slimes come down on the side of responsible Ward & June Cleaver lifestyles?”
No. They want to outlaw “Ward & June Cleaver lifestyles”, to make things “fair”.
Some people make bad choices. Number one of obviously many bad choices was getting pregnant out of wedlock.
Going to college to in order to play basketball is another bad choice.
And then of course … too many bad choices to enumerate.
They are not divided by I Do, they are divided by I DID..................WHAT???
As my Daddy put it, many if not most young men are unwilling to buy a cow if they get their milk for free.
Life is not fair.
Also people live with the choices they make and their consequences.
THIS IS LIFE YOU SNOWFLAKE PEOPLE.
Well, she could have given up her baby for adoption, then college, marriage, and children in that order.
Nuclear families - The REAL White Privilege.
Ironically, married parents who stay married correlates far more strongly than race, in predicting the academic and economic success of a child. Of course, the black bastardy rate is absurdly high.
Thank you, Mr. Faulkner

EXACTLY what I’ve been saying for years.

Too bad colleges don’t encourage and/or teach that kind of “old fashioned” wisdom. Instead they have co-ed dorms, co-ed bathrooms, and sex workshops. Then parents wonder what went wrong.
