They don’t call it “Never Trump” for nothing.

There's the usual two categories of replies here. One that traitors are getting away with treason. The other view is that there is a secret investigation that will bring them to justice. Of course, neither is true. The FBI used incredibly poor judgment investigating the political opposition. They presumably based their investigation on Mifsud's alleged encounter with Papadop mentioning the emails. The Trump-deranged Strzok was sent to Europe to gin up evidence for the investigation. At best it is very unprofessional and suitable for a banana republic. At worst it is a variety of crimes.

If those crimes are ever acknowledged they will be watered down into the "lacked candor" type of crime that McCabe might be charged with. In that case it probably means slaps on the wrist for most.

If the investigatory crimes are not acknowledged, it doesn't mean that traitors have gotten off the hook, but the deep staters in Justice are in charge. It means we have a world where foreign intel services can manipulate our elections. That's why they can never drop the Russia collusion narrative, because in all likelihood Mifsud was a British agent or involved with British intelligence.

My reasoning is pretty simple, I can't think of other motives for why Mifsud would allegedly tell Papadop about Russia having Clinton emails. I can think of plenty of sticks and one nice caroot (Papadop's Italian wife) that would get him to confess to that totally ridiculous process crime. The British effort leading to the FBI spying (and provacation of Papadop) and later surveillance of Carter Page (never charged with anything) was all grafted together as they went along. There could be other stuff in the redacted memos (e.g. Schiff's memo) but the more we learn, the less redacted material remains unknown.

I wonder what they have on Gowdy and Ryan? Or are they just innate weasels?

Ryan and Gowdy are drinking from the same bottle ... probably literally.

I thought Ryan was a known quantity for some time. He has been for me.

Both he and McConnell need to be sat down now, not waiting another six months.

We have a window of opportunity.

Strike now, while the iron is hot.

These two men are slow walking everything.

It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that Ryan and other GOPe types were being briefed about this spying by the Obama admin people. They are just trying to make it look not so bad when that information is revealed.

Yep, there’s the ‘principled’ (R)N(C) for ya, yipping in the background. The finest elected bodies $$ can buy.

Prestige/power over politics, EVERYTHING over principles.

Ryan and Gowdy are a curse upon the patriots in Congress.

I can hardly wait for the two to begone. Now we need a real speaker who knows how to wage war on the left by passing populist legislation.

The current Ryan replacement is another deep state trope. We need someone from the Freedom Caucus.
