Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is reportedly in negotiations with Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley to be granted immunity in exchange for his testimony on the upcoming Justice Department Inspector General report on the FBIs handling of the Clinton email probe. Grassley, an Iowa Republican, has quietly requested that several former officials appear in front of the Judiciary Committee to discuss the long-awaited internal Justice Department report, which sources say will detail a series of missteps surrounding the Justice Department and FBIs investigation into Clintons handling of classified information while secretary of state, CNN reports.
Under the terms of such a grant of use immunity, no testimony or other information provided by Mr. McCabe could be used against him in a criminal case, Michael Bromwich, an attorney for the former FBI official, told Grassley.
Mr. McCabe is willing to testify, but because of the criminal referral, he must be afforded suitable legal protection, Bromwich added.

Is there enough security detail/protection to cover for Clinton Crime squad?
I do wonder, sometimes.
Depends what he’s willing to say. It’s a congressional hearing, but I still think he needs to say what he’s willing to testify to before we just give him a deal. McCabe doesn’t know all of what they have on him so if he offers something at variance with the known facts then “no deal”.

Thanks. I remember that.
I was thinking (hoping) this was a more recent development.
We’ll take what we can get :D
If he fails to deliver as promised, then the immunity deal is rescinded. But they should hear his testimony before they even contemplate an immunity deal. That is the only way they know what to expect, and if he actually delivers when testifying. Otherwise, let him dangle in the wind.
It sounds like Grassley is out to obstruct justice. Why would congress be able to give any subject of a criminal investigation any kind of immunity? That would be direct interference with the Judicial Side of government. This is all the more reason to believe that Grassley is deep state, and doing the bidding of his handlers.
Grassley is out to do what Comey can no longer do.
Grassley is not a prosecutor. Neither is anyone in congress. Until and unless the Judicial side of Government is through with McCabe and the others then Grassley has no right to give anyone immunity. It is obstruction of Justice.
I agree that McCabe and Comey of all people- need to go to prison along with several others. The only ones bigger than they would be Lynch and Obama. And I don’t think that the prosecution needs McCabe or Comey to testify in order to prove the lawlessness of those above them. I believe that if Obama walks then it is not because the prosecution does not have the goods. It will be because they were given a pass by choice.
Didn’t Congress give Immunity to the guy who set up & serviced Shrillary’s private server?
Then-—he DID NOT testify?
He needs HANGING for what he;s done!
“”Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is reportedly in negotiations with Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley to be granted immunity in exchange for his testimony on the upcoming Justice Department Inspector General report on the FBIs handling of the Clinton email probe””
I am getting worn out trying to make sense of most everything being reported these days. Why on earth would anyone need testimony and why would anyone testify about an UPCOMING IG report? Is the IG report finalized or not? Has McCabe never been called on during this investigation?
If the answer is NO, they why not just report that they need to question him and will give him immunity to testify? Gosh darn, how difficult can that be?
Where did this country lose the ability to KISS? Everyone here knows the meaning of that, I’m sure. Can’t we just go back to logic and simplicity? It would make it so much easier for us old folks to participate..
Felonies.
I agree...issue a subpoena, no immunity. If he fails to show, issue a contempt citation for failure to comply with a congressional subpoena.
If he does show, ask questions for hours & hours, forcing him to take the 5th.
When the democraps try to defend him during the hearing, the repubs should remind the dems that McCabe is not some lowly IRS employee. He was deputy director of the FBI and was acting director after Comey was fired until Wray was confirmed by the Senate.
Then, Trump needs to declassify and publicly release EVERY document related to these investigations.
Let the voters read the documents. Let the voters decide who is corrupt, and who is not.
Poison the swamp first if the drainage isn't fast enough.
No deals!
Ok- sing like a burd and you can plead guilty to a lesser charge and get @7 years in club fed. Otherwise you are looking at 10-20 in gen pop of mad security.
I would offer that deal...
It also means that McCabe doesnt have pardon dated January 19, 2017, in a safety deposit box somewhere.
Insurance...their favorite thing...comes in many forms...including leaving some lessers exposed to take the fall if they get talky. Obama left him and Im sure some other to flap in the wind. Keep them silent. Insurance.
Not sure of the exact term but I think it’s called a “proffer”. CG could have him give a proffer which would be to define what specifically he would be testifying about and hinge his immunity on his complete, total truthful testimony.
Let the games begin.
