He didn’t have to do this. He could just have enjoyed the life of a billionaire for the remainder of his time, but he chose to save his country.

My take. Trump is relishing life right now. He thrives on challenges, the bigger the better. He would go nuts living the leisure life of a retired billionaire.

This is exactly right. President Trump is unique in the history of presidents. He took a step down from a comfortable, lavish lifestyle where nearly everyone liked him. He knew the cost and did it anyway.
Did Obama, Bush, or Clinton sacrifice to be president? No. Perhaps Reagan a little, but not on the level of Trump.
