Why does D’Souza need pardoning? He’s already served his time.

He needs a pardon so that he can have his right to vote restored. Also, andl injustice was done to him and this will clean his record. No, he cannot get the time back that he served in prison, but he can have his name cleared, and President Trump absolutely did the right thing by pardoning him.

Restoration of rights I think.
The right to vote, right to own a firearm and probably makes it easier to travel abroad.
Plus it was a purely political prosecution and never should have happened.

“Why does D’Souza need pardoning? He’s already served his time.”

It clears the slate. Removes the issue from his record — as if it never happened. Justification.

He was a political criminal. Sentenced by the most horrible regime in the republic’s history. Why should he be saddled with any crime on his record?

Also, as a felon, D’Souza can’t have anything to do with firearms should he wish to do so.

No one will be able to truthfully call him a convict. His conviction is overturned, his criminal record is expunged as if it never happened.

It’s a big deal, especially for those who suffered an injustice.

Why does D’Souza need pardoning? He’s already served his time.

If people like Rosie O'Donnell can get a de facto prosecutor's pardon by refusing to prosecute her for a more serious campaign donation crime, then D'Souza should get an actual pardon to correct the willful partisan prosecution of him.
