The PT Cruiser was the only car introduced during Mercedes brief interlude with Chrysler. They enforced strict quality control and it was a decent little car. The fit and finish was good as well—slamming a door would break your ear drums. We drove one for 300k without any major issues.

Had one. The exceedingly expensive cam angle sensor went ar 55k. The dealer said it was a common problem, but there was no recall. Rather than spend over $1000 fixing it, I bought a Camry.

Actually the Chrysler 300 and the derivatives were Diamler Chrysler products. Very few people remember the Chrysler crossfire. A buddy of mine had one. It was heavily influenced by German ingenuity.

My parents have one. It’s miserable. It’s currently sitting because it needs a complete brake system overhaul, which is not cheap, but it also needs a timing belt change which will cost more than the vehicle is actually worth. The number of things that broke on the car in the 125K they’ve had it is ridiculous.
