“CBS This Morning” gave generally fair coverage today to yesterday’s shooting at an Oklahoma City restaurant in which an armed citizen shot and killed the assailant.
But CBS couldn’t help but let the MSM’s fixation on gun control creep in. At the end of the segment, the CBS reporter on the scene, David Begnaud, said:
“We asked the police if that armed civilian had a permit to carry his weapon, and they told us they didn’t know but they were looking into it.”

“Armed civilian” as used by CBS seems to reveal a different attitude than if they had used “armed citizen”.
Would appreciate if someone could ping to Bang list.
Doesn’t sound like he was carrying concealed. The left would certainly have a hysterical fit if he was or if the restaurant was a “gun free” zone. That’s just wrong, you know.
What if it was an Undocumented Firearm? What then, CBS?
Bet the dead perp did not have a permit. Why is cBS not asking that question?
Someone needs to ask that reporter and his bosses: Would it have been better if the armed civilian had done nothing, if it turns out he did not have a permit?
The bare facts are that rarely do armed police prevent the criminal shooting that took place, they can’t, because they are not there until after they are somehow notified they need to be there.
The vast majority of the time the armed police do not prevent crimes - they arrive after the fact and then try to identify, locate and arrest the criminal, which even then they cannot do as the criminal gets away before they arrive.
Yes, we praise and applaud the police for what they do do, but the truth is they do not “stop” most crimes before they happen.

Obviously CBS was upset that more people weren’t shot. Communists want America disarmed. CBS communist broadcast service.
The left wants to take guns from non-violent citizens and leave them in the hands of violent criminals.
Absolutely no doubt.
SeeBS would have preferred a mass slaughter so they could then show their hate-America attitude and rail against the Second Amendment and push for more gun control.
As it is, the fifth-column leftist SeeBS can only raise alarms over whether every nuance of the law was followed by the person who prevented the slaughter.

SeeBS is upset that one of their supporters bit the dust although the shooter will still be able to continue to vote for them.
Did the perp have a permit? Give that citizen a medal for saving lives. Shoot perps like that every time. Do not be a victim. Your right to your life needs to be backed up with your right to defend YOUR LIFE.

Exactly! Our U.S. Constitution gives us the right to keep and bear arms. Any other permit is just an extra tax.

SeeBS is as turdful as ever, I see. They underhandedly attack the hero. Call him an “armed citizen”, but not a “victim”. Question his legality with his gun. I’ll bet they’re actively looking for dirt on him.
