Rep. Diane Black, a Republican running for Tennessee governor, has introduced legislation that would let people and companies donate to the construction of a U.S.-Mexico border wall.
Her bill would create an account at the Treasury Department to take donations that would be used to fund President Trump's biggest campaign promise, after Congress failed to give him the $25 billion he requested in January.
"While Democrats block commonsense border security and put illegal immigrants before our families, we are going to put America first. Real immigration reform cannot be achieved without a secure border," Black said in a statement.
The Border Wall Trust Fund Act would allow money deposited in the Treasury fund to be used for "planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining a barrier along the international border," her press release stated.
"The most important job of the federal government is the safety and security of the American people, and if citizens in our country wish to contribute to this effort, they absolutely should be given the opportunity," she added. "Americans know that President Trump is committed to protecting our nation for future generations, and we are ready to stand with him to build...

Buy a brick in the wall with your name on it.
Change that question on the 1040 form to donate to the Wall instead of the Presidential Election Campaign:
“Presidential Election Campaign
Check here if you, or your spouse if filing
jointly, want $3 to go to this fund. Checking
a box below will not change your tax or
refund.
You Spouse”
Allow people to increase that amount if they wish.
I promise to pay for the ammunition fired at the intruders as they’re attempting to cross.
Give me an address to send it to.
I’m already taxed to the point of radical mastectomy... what more do they want
They can use the money that WOULD HAVE been spent supporting illegals
For openers, President can’t levy a tax. The Congress must do that.
Secondly, any one with money and an internet connection can easily transfer money to an office in Mexico that gives it to whom ever it is being sent. The Two parties settleup periodically by official bank transfer.
In days not very long past, Mexicans could purchase mexian lottery tickets in their local bean house via the restraunt fax to a contact in Mexico city. I would presume that is via the internet now.
Thirdly, banks are in the business of international funds wire transfer. Any such method you propose would be discrimatory if not applied to banks.
Put me down for $100!
They will pay big time when all the SA free loaders coming to the USA LIVE in MEXICO.
Yep, that pretty much sums up my sentiment.
If the funding for thousands of “welfare” programs were eliminated or cut to the bone, and my taxes went down SUBSTANTIALLY, then I would think about it.
But I am not going to both pay for all the benefits for illegals AND pay to build the wall.
I probably would.
But I already have. TAXES!!!
It would be nice if we as citizens/taxpayers had some say in a LOT of things that we are stuck paying for. Why is there a shortage of money only for the things that conservatives like me want?
Get rid of PP funding, education boondoggle funding, climate research funding, etc.
Public works program. Two birds, one wall.
Take all money confiscated for drugs and use it.
Trump cannot appropriate funds. Only Congress can.
Sorry.
I would send money but im worried that it would end up like socialist security and mediscarethe$hitout of you
“Wall Bonds”
An excellent idea! I’ll buy some. The only issue is efficiency: how much goes directly to construction?
Add a custom message to the wannabe moochers, for an additional $10!
Absolutely, if they put my name on it as a donor.
No. Let the Mexican government pay for it through remittance.
