When people go into a Starbucks, often the first thing they smell is roasting coffee. That's about to change. Starbucks, stung by phony charges of racism when two black men were arrested for camping out in a Starbucks without making a purchase, has changed its official policies.
From now on, not only is anyone welcome to use a Starbucks bathroom without making a purchase, but the public is also welcome to come in and sit at tables and never buy anything.
The implications of this are obvious. Some people will use tables as personal offices and never purchase anything. Table space, already at a premium, will be largely unavailable for paying customers. What will that do for sales?
But even worse, in urban areas which have large homeless populations, guess who will come in and camp all day?
The unpleasant appearance of the homeless, combined with their smell, will drive customers out of Starbucks. I am convinced that this will be the end of Starbucks. This is a gross overreaction to the arrest of two black men.
Companies typically do lip service to perversity that doesn't affect the bottom line in a major way--allowing men in women's bathrooms, forcing employees to go through diversity training, giving money to racial hustlers, and so on. But this policy change will destroy Starbucks. How can it not?
Starbucks says it is treating "non-paying guests" as "customers". How out of touch is that?

Sam's Club CEO (Rosalind Brewer) Is A Racist Bigot Who Hates White People ... Massive Boycott Being Organized
"In recent weeks the racist bigot who runs Sam's Club, Rosalind Brewer, an African-American woman, outraged millions of Americans when she admitted during interviews that she openly discriminates against white males."
BTW, I've never been to Starbucks and I shop at Costco now.
They’re killin’ themselves. HA!
Starbucks is getting what they deserve.
Starbucks is stupidity stuck on steroids, but that pic is SO photoshopped!
I love it!
Most Starbucks employees are left wingers. They will see first hand how stupid their progressive ideas are.
This policy lasts less than 90 days because employees will quit in droves. There is only so much a person can handle when dealing with bio hazards in a bathroom.
And not to mention how many customers that will find other venues.
I quit Starbucks after there dialogue about racism crap and havent spent a penny with them for about 2 yrs.
Perhaps, Starbucks will install RV septic dumps in the parking lot for the roving homeless in the ancient motorhomes.
I’ll predict that by 2025....Starbucks has lost 40-percent of its business, and will have to re-brand itself.
Anyone who hires Brewer deserves to lose their money.
2025? How about 2019.
How about all us nudists? Are we welcome also? We need a shower installed in the front lobby.
...will become?
Many Starbucks locations are the de facto offices of the ‘work at home’ crowd; you see them with their laptops and papers across all the tables, most typically one seat taken at a table for 4 (perhaps 2 people spread across the large table intended for 12.)
Rarely do they buy much of anything; they go elsewhere for lunch time, only to come swarming back afterwards.
The policy isn’t a new thing; it has long been Starbuck’s policy that paying customers are relegated to the worst seats in the house (if they can find one.) Absent a lockout on the wifi after an hour of service, the ‘officeless’ swarmed the locations. A three buck cup of coffee as rent per day? Cheap office space.
And of course, the two black men were not arrested for not buying anything, they were arrested for refusing to leave after being told to by officers. But hey, it’s all Starbuck’s fault.
As for the locations becoming homeless shelters? Many of those homeless already have no trespass citations. You’ll note that Starbucks hasn’t taken any steps to rescind those.
Being a nudist and drinking hot coffee....just doesn’t mix. I’m reminded of that older gal who ordered coffee at McDonalds and had an ‘accident’.
I almost never go to Sam's Club any more, and there is one practically within walking distance of my house. They are horribly run, and the lines are always ridiculously long. Even the self checkout lines are long. Instead, I drive 7-8 miles to Costco. Even if their lines are long, they move quite rapidly. While Sam's decided to concentrate on affirmative action hiring, Costco chose instead to concentrate on serving their customers better.
Now that I know that Rosiland Brewer is COO of Starbuck's that explains a lot. Starbuck's could have simply fired the manager (or "re-assigned" her) and let the chips fall where they may. They might have had to deal with a BLM boycott, but they would have survived that. Instead, they chose to potentially alienate their entire customer base.
Dunkin Donuts
>> Some people will use tables as personal offices ...
Some? SOME? You’ve gotta be kidding.
I like McDonald’s coffee, but look what happened with its lenient policy. It turned into a senior citizens center with a bunch of old people sitting around for hours every morning LOL.
Small coffeeshops, which are more charming & need business, are ecstatic about this! What sane person would ever go into a Starbucks now????? Businesses exist for & to serve their customers.
[I like McDonalds coffee, but look what happened with its lenient policy. It turned into a senior citizens center with a bunch of old people sitting around for hours every morning LOL.]
I’d much rather go into a restaurant with a bunch of old people (many prob veterans) loitering, than a bunch of thugs who look like they just came from a Black Panther meeting....
With Starbums new proven racist CEO (Rosalind Brewer), they have opened up opportunities for un-PC companies like Chick-fil-A. They could call it Chick-fil-Covfefe. Besides the NFL, I've never seen such a large company in such a hurry to kill itself.
