As I have said, there will be no justice levied against 0bama and his minions, the Clintons or anyone corrupt in the Democrat machine.

Trump is the biggest buffoon in history for sticking with impotent duo of Sessions and Rosenstien.

Thank you!! End of thread....

Obama changed rules and regulations to cover them all. FISA rules changed to allow large amount of people to see who’s being wired...

Why can he not investigate past government employees and what they did while in the government??? That really makes no sense. I am not saying you are wrong, but he is supposed to investigate wrongdoing in government....which means the past....just because someone leaves the government does not exonerate them.

I take it you have never traveled to Washington D.C. and interacted with government workers.

Incorrect assumption. I know DC quite well. A very large percentage of DC feds are Democrats. However, many of them also enjoy comfortable jobs and would like to maintain the viability of their careers.

There’s always a job for them in the swamp. When they get fired they always land on their feet. You don’t get a job in the DOJ without being well connected.

Congress has threatened Trump about firing anyone. He is stuck.

Ding! Ding! We’ve got a winner. B
Priestap is cooperating. So are several other key people. Once the IG draws up the witness list, based on new leads, he hands it off to Huber. Huber can then subpoena any former DOJ, FBI and DoS employees and compel them to testify before his grand juries.

Appointing another special counsel is the dumbest idea ever. From day one, he will have a target on his back. He will be destroyed by the media and deep state as a partisan hack. Come on people! We’ve seen this movie already! Ken Starr? Anyone???

So you’re saying Trump has very poor judgment, and your goal is to broadcast this message.

The MOAB was Bibi’s outing the Iranians for claiming this enrichment program was only for energy.

The Inspector General is where you send investigations that you want to put on a back burner, and then they eventually dissolve into ‘recommendations’ and ‘suggestions’ to avoid similar mistakes by government organizations going forward.

They are not the place where you send investigations that require legal actions, criminal charges and consequences.

If criminal activity is found, surely law enforcement could step in and make arrests as they would with any criminal. No?

Can’t the IG also pull any and all department generated documents and communications including all emails, texts, phone calls, etc independent of time?

"It’s all theater because the beltway GOP doesn’t support POTUS. Without cover on his flanks Trump can’t engage the kenyan and his thugs. His admin and MAGA agenda would be totally sidetracked in that battle. So we get this kabuki nonsense."

Agreed.

“This isn’t a bit surprising for those that know what an IG is for, and what the office’s limits are.”

correct. but it’s way more fun for too many ignorant FReeeprs and assorted trolls here to rant and rave about shite they know nothing about.

Ordering Horowitz to investigate the Dem/Obama campaign spying is a good first step for investigating these peccadilloes. The paper trail is all still there as are many existing FedGov employees who CAN be made to testify about both former and existing employees.

When criminal activity IS found by the IG, THEN he refers to ACTUAL law enforcement officials who DO have broad subpoena power, as was the case with the criminal referral of McCabe.

And I fully expect that’s what we’re going to see with the upcoming release of the Clinton report, as well as several others that Horowitz still has in the works. People here forget that Horowitz announced several months ago that there were going to multiple reports, each one dealing with an different issue.

Thank you. Issuing subpoenas is not what the IG does, and I learned that on FR.

Correct you are, and misleading is the headline. As a former IG Assistance and Investigations NCOIC, plus 14-months working for an IG a few years prior to that assignment I have been involved at that level. Additionally, I have worked for the CINC in Korea, the Commander XVII ABC and 82d Abn Div Commander in personal capacity as personal admin or Secretary General Staff NCOIC. In all those jobs I saw the total picture from the IG's boss to where the rubber meets the road. The IG at the unit level carries with it when providing recommendations the full force of the Commander's authority. The recommendations are first reported to the Commander. If it requires information that has to go to a chaplain, or criminal investigations, or contacting a family member that will happen independent of the CINC, the Corps Commander or Division Commander. However, the IG does work for that Commander, but also the IG will report to those findings (prior to recommendations) to the highest IG - so if you are in the Army it goes back to THE Inspector General. The Army is the originating source of the IG which spread to all agencies in the USG.

Fair and impartial, independent and honorable, are all aspects of the ultimate IG. Knowing Trump is the head of the Agency Directory, I am sure this IG is going to report his findings to the appropriate people. I have complete faith that this IG will deliver. There is no room for a committee like in congress or the senate where the two party system splits their membership - the IG is independent of those concerns and the rule of law will weigh heavily upon comparing activities and determining their legality.
