Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison said at a Democratic event Monday that Republicans doing “Bible studies” in prisons is hurting Democrats’ chances at winning voters. “You know, back when I was in Minnesota State Legislature, I got the impression that maybe Democrats could possibly have an advantage with folks in this area who might vote for us,” Ellison said. “Not true. We will have to fight for their vote like we do with every other vote because I learned that a lot of Republicans will go to jails and do Bible studies and other things.”

We have 3 friends who do this. One visits the young first time offenders.
The other two go to some tough prisons.

The Gideons International has an intentional, focused jail ministry throughout the world, including the USA. Gideons are businessmen who are members of evangelical churches. The mission of the Gideons is to win the lost for Jesus Christ through personal witnessing and the one-on-one distribution of God’s Word. The one place where the Gideons distribute Bibles is through hotels and motels, in individual rooms.
A Bible in a motel has about a six year lifespan before it is taken out and recycled into a prison ministry. (Hard covers are removed and replaced with soft covers for the prison ministry. Soft cover Bibles are more difficult to be used as weapons.) The motel Bible will likely be touched and viewed by 2300 people over those six years.

Well Mr. Ellison, why don’t you do a little Bible study yourself and free yourself from the futility of Islam?
Muslims target blacks in prison. It is one way to trying to divide our nation. One lie they like to tell is that “Christianity is the white man’s religion.”
I enjoy listening to Abraham Hamilton III on Christian radio. Here is one of his podcasts where he discusses early Christianity in Africa. It is worth listening to — especially if we want to counter Muslim lies about Christianity.

He insinuated something like that - not sure, but maybe with a racial undertone of sorts - i.e., Christians = white = Republicans spreading a normal value system.
He thinks incarcerated brown men should be sitting ducks for the proselytizing of demon imams.
As far as the vote goes, I’m sure these ministries have a significant effect on the law abiding family members of the incarcerated, many of whom have their media-fed impressions of right wing Christians dispelled by these acts of compassion.

I guess he overlooks the fact that muzzie’s doing sleeper cell planning in jails is making it harder for folks to remain safe.
