Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., says in a new documentary of his life that he is thankful for the life he's lived.
"The American people don't hold Washington and the people who work there in very high esteem. We need to make sure that we give the American people what they deserve, and right now they're not getting it," McCain said in an interview for "For Whom the Bell Tolls," named for the Ernest Hemingway novel which McCain still lists as his favorite.
"I know this is a very vicious disease. I greet every day with gratitude, and I will continue to do everything that I can but I'm also very aware that none of us live forever," he continued. "And I'm confident, and I'm happy, and I'm very grateful for the life I've been able to lead, and I greet the future with joy."

It’s set back in a wooded area, not exactly well-marked. And when we were there a few years back, there was a fence around the monument. Go figure.
I look forward to a future without John McCain. Too bad there are so many carbon copies around.
Does anyone know when he actually did this interview? And isnt it time the public knows the real condition of a sitting Senator instead of this crap that he is at his home recovering from treatment for a brain tumor? Or is McCain one of the healthiest, luckiest Glioblastoma recipients ever?
Obama gave us Trump.
So do we, so just die already!
His death has turned into a Spaghetti Western.
June 1 is the date I thought, too. He still has time to resign before 5/31 (or croak) which will force a special election in November. If neither happens before 5/31, the Governor selects a new senator. Can someone verify that? My gut says he resigns before 5/31 due to his intense hatred of Trump.
BOOOM! Drop the mic! Close the threat. Says it all right there
“The American people don’t hold Washington and the people who work there in very high esteem.”
You got that right Mac!
Still no “proof of life” photo.
Well...you see, that's the downside to making a deal with the Devil. He's a dirty dealer. There were a few "Twilight Zone" episodes which showed that, as I recall.
In another example, there's an old story about a business man who made a deal with the Devil for incredible success. The only thing he asked for in the afterlife was the universe's most sumptuous golf course. After death, Satan led him to his course, which was more than anything the businessman could have imagined: A 36-hole course with a beautiful clubhouse, long fairways, perfectly placed hazards, rolling hills, and velvety greens. Next the Devil gave him a set of clubs so well balanced that the golfer felt he had been swinging them all his life. Out to the first tee they stepped, ready for a game. The golfer said: What a course! Give me the ball. The Devil laughed: Gold balls? We have no golf balls."
Gold balls = Golf balls
John...... you have no future. You are dying
Good one!
Sure wish you’d greet the future with quiet dignity, but we know that’s never going to happen.
Nice summation!
Hey you had your reasons.
I was such a big fan of George W Bush - we all learn and history always teaches the most valuable lessons.
Be thankful you are wiser and stronger - it took an absolute piece of trash like McCain to teach you that lesson but you will never make that mistake again.
Wow...that brain tumor is really having success.
O Please, don’t feel guilt. Think of it as a vote against O’Vomit. By not voting you would have been an Obama enabler.
He could be dead for all we know and have his death announced after the cut off date.
