GOP Rep. Says He Can Pass Amnesty After May 15 Primaries, Say Hill Sources
Breitbart ^ | 15 May 2018 | John Binder and Neil Munro

The GOP legislator who is pushing the “discharge petition” is telling lobbyists that he will have enough GOP signatures to force an amnesty vote in the House once this week’s primaries are finished, sources tell Breitbart News.

California GOP Rep. Jeff Denham is the frontman in the petition effort, which needs just seven more GOP signatures to reach the 25 needed GOP signatures on the discharge petition. Those 25 signatures will allow the 193 Democrats to take the 218-vote majority control of the House floor and push through a no-strings amnesty for roughly 3 million younger ‘DACA’ illegals.

That amnesty would also block President Donald Trump’s pro-American immigration reforms because it would leave him with nothing to buy off the cheap-labor groups in the GOP and Democratic parties.

“Denham is telling people they’ll get to 25 after primaries today because members will be ‘free’ to co-sponsor” the petition once their state primaries are over, one source told Breitbart News.

Another source told Breitbart News that House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) is the only member of the GOP Leadership currently trying to stop the amnesty vote.

Previously, House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said he hoped the discharge petition failed. On May 15, The Hill reported that McCarthy said:

Well, we’re still talking after we talked to the President on which way to go … I still have a firm belief discharge is the worst way to legislate.

Outgoing House Speaker Paul Ryan signaled his support for the petition.

So far, Ryan has not publicly criticized the petition-signers, nor has he threatened to deny them any of the party’s reelection funds. That silence is interpreted by activists as a tacit endorsement of the amnesty push.

1) Let these traitors to the American People out themselves. It is interesting that he has to wait until AFTER the primaries, isn’t it?

2) Trump will veto this crap, and there is no way that it’ll be overridden. So it will be to no effect except to aid the Dem propaganda against the President...IOW, see Point #1.

This is bullshit. Any congress vermin that votes for this amnesty needs to be dealt with in the harshest manner.

Why should Ryan say anything? He’s part of the deep state trying to pull down America. He hates the idea of MAGA!

“...House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) is the only member of the GOP Leadership currently trying to stop the amnesty vote.”

There are reasons the hivemind tried to murder him.

Agree it will never get to Trumps desk for veto.

“The leading advocates of the discharge petition are facing tough elections in districts with many Democratic-leaning poor Latinos.”

1965 immigration bill plan: import enough democrat voters into the country to stay in office and then give up the entire country completely with RINO help.

“The GOP pushing amnesty at this point is so stupid it’s virtually suicidal.”

Just another attempt, by Republicans, to get rid of the Trump agenda.

Trump will just veto.

“The GOP can’t/won’t govern.” The Dims already have their talking points printed up on this one.

They would easily get 60 votes in the Senate.
They had 68 votes, enough for an over ride in 2013 for Rubio’s Amnesty Gang bill.
They have plenty of votes in reserve.
There are just FOUR Senators that side with the citizens and the rule of law.

Flake, Corker, Hatch, Heller, Alexander, Graham, McCain, Murkowsky, Hoeven, Rubio, Tillis, Burr, Lankford, Gardner, Cornyn, Cochran, Collins, Sasse, Kennedy, Shelby, Ernst, Blunt, McConnell, Wicker, Portman, Isakson, Johnson, Toomey, Rounds, Thune, Gaines, Barasso and Enzi are all Bush League Republicans hell bent on making America into North Mexico

You'd have DEMOCRATS in the Senate voting to kill this bill. Bob Casey is a perfect case in point. As a result of yesterday's GOP primary in Pennsylvania, he'll be facing Rep. Lou Barletta in November. Barletta personifies the movement that got Donald Trump elected in 2016, and he has built his career in politics on his rabid opposition to illegal immigration all the way back to his days as a small-town mayor in Pennsylvania.

Remember this: There is a huge majority in both houses of Congress in favor of this DACA amnesty, but voters are overwhelmingly either: (1) opposed to it, or (2) outraged that Congress even dedicates any energy to dealing with these DACA immigrants at all.

Item (2) is the single biggest reason why the GOP-led Congress had let the DACA issue vanish from their agenda entirely.

How many times to they have to be bombarded with phone calls and angry people at town halls before they learn their lesson?

If they pass this over Trump’s veto, Trump will cruise to re-election.

He will have proven himself to be the only person in D.C. willing to do the right thing.

The GOP would enter a state of full-on civil war.

Why don’t the Republicans just give Nancy the gavel? Save us all from standing in line to vote.

Can he override a veto? (Answer: No, not even close)

Doesn't matter. He doesn't care about amnesty. He just cares about the ISSUE of amnesty.
