The current issue is the DOJ and FBI refusing to comply with a previous letter sent by Chairman Devin Nunes to Jeff Sessions requesting information pertinent to ongoing review of potential FISA abuse.
Chairman Nunes sent Main Justice a classified letter asking questions. DOJ responded saying they would not comply with providing information (letter below). The Washington Post claimed Nunes was looking for information on an FBI/DOJ ‘source’:
“Top White House officials, with the assent of President Trump, agreed to back the decision to withhold the information. They were persuaded that turning over Justice Department documents could risk lives by potentially exposing the source, a U.S. citizen who has provided intelligence to the CIA and FBI, according to multiple people familiar with the discussion and the person’s role.” (link)
Additionally, this “source” was later also described as a witness for Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation.

That letter says the White House was involved and went along with non-compliance. WTH? Why would the President not want to comply?
Maybe because WH staff & POTUS already know there was no collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign. Therefore they may not want to look like they are resisting DOJ & Mueller in any way.
Mueller is now resorting to dig up issues not related to Russia collusion to save his face and credibility.

Because the info is part of a current prosecution case. And if it is released to Nunes/Gowdy, it also has to be released to Schiff. Then, the ‘Rats know exactly the details about the investigation into the Deep State. Trust Sessions!
If the source is a witness in Mueller’s investigation, then the defendants in the cases Mueller is prosecuting probably have the right to call him as a witness.
This is all BS. We are talking about the President of The United States and an effort to remove him ether justifiably or trough some kind of deep state conspiracy. We have a right to know. The need to protect the identity of some source is heavily outweighed by the enormity of what they are trying to do. We absolutely have a right and a need to know.
It also occurs to me that they’re gearing up to use this story about protecting confidential sources as an excuse to drop a bunch of the criminal charges that Mueller has filed. In a criminal case, the defendant has a right to know who this person is and call him as a witness.
