The Conyers family power struggle intensified Thursday as Ian Conyers, the great nephew of disgraced former Rep. John Conyers Jr., took steps to boot the ex-congressman’s son John Conyers III from the ballot in the race to replace him.
John Conyers III should be kicked from the ballot because he did not collect the requisite 1,000 valid signatures to run for his father’s old seat in Michigan’s 13th District, the formal challenge filed by an attorney for Ian Conyers asserts.
The challenge urges officials to throw out 617 of the 1,240 signatures on John Conyers III’s filing petition because because they came from people who live outside the 13th District; are not registered to vote; and had already signed the petition, The Detroit News reported.

As a Michigan FReeper I am sorry to tell you those voters have no intention of voting for anyone but an anti-Trump Dem—forever.
The candidate could be a mannequin with a little tape cassette player inside saying “I am a Democrat” and that would do it.
In Detroit the 200,000 voters will be tabulated as 1.5 million for the Dems. Vote early and often.

It's a whole world of difference since the last election. Trump has made a big difference - including with blacks.... and this mess with the Dems there, not to mention the DNC altogether and with things looking like it going to break wide open - with the investigations switching from Pres. Trump to the real criminals - wouldn't it be worth a shot to have someone run? - .... but we just cede it to them?
Stupidity is the Republicans strong suit.
How nice. A war over inheritance rights of a seat in congress. I thought we had escaped such things about 200 years ago but it seems we common citizens overestimated our own role as the supreme authority in this country (after God, who is all but forgotten by the government at this point)
