Two nights ago with Tucker Carlson, I discussed the decision of the Boy Scouts of America to drop the "Boy" bit. The ruination of a great civilizing institution has been accomplished in a mere two decades. As I wrote three years ago:
In the late Nineties, the BSA said no to gay scoutmasters. I was on the floor of the Democratic Convention in Los Angeles in 2000 when they had some Eagle scouts as an honor guard - and in my section of the crowd everyone booed. And I remember thinking, "Man, these Dems are nuts. Booing boy scouts?"
But the booers won. Over the next decade, gay-friendly churches (Episcopalian, Congregational, and the other post-Christian ones) booted the scouts from church halls where they'd met for decades; Disney cut them off the list of approved charities to which their employees were permitted to donate their "Ears To You" fundraising proceeds; other corporate benefactors from the US soccer league to Lockheed Martin severed their ties ...and the number of new recruits to scouting dwindled remorselessly, and so did their finances. And in the end the boy scouts' leader caved - but too late. In the blink of an eye, the boy scouts had been, as my friend Ezra Levant likes to say, "de-normalized", and banished to the fringe, and nice soccer mommies don't want l'il Jimmy playing on the extremist fringe.

I guess it depends on what we want our kids to become. I prefer they be LEFT ALONE to develop (as I was), and our society used to do just that, such as by excluding gay scout masters, and many other ways.
But I’ll concede that others may look at their own kids differently.
This is a free country where people who don't like what an organization offers are free to do as they please. I would suggest that the BSA effectively ended once it became a top-down national organization with a bloated bureaucracy. Once that happens with any organization originally established with a core mission, the mission is doomed to fail and the perpetuation of the bureaucracy becomes the core mission of the organization. See MADD, the Komen Foundation, and any other prominent non-profit groups for other examples of how this works.
F#%& the Boy Scouts ... and I mean that. Get together with a few like-minded adult men, start your own local organization, and call it whatever the hell you want. Come up with your own uniforms, or use military surplus gear to establish your "brand." If you can't find a church or other group to let you use their buildings, then f#%& them, too. Hold your meetings in the woods around a massive bonfire.
And if you ever come across a Boy Scout troop on a camping trip in a national forest somewhere, I guarantee you those kids will envy yours when they see what you're all about. Don't let your kids snicker at them and call them "faggots," though.
The days of whining about the demise of a useless organization that hasn't been relevant in decades should come to an end quickly if we have any interest in saving this country.

I remember the days we could have a debate with name-calling, but now, if we don’t abide by the gay agenda, WE ARE IGNORANT.

It’s not paranoia when homosexuality is well known as a danger to children.
ANYTHING the BSA does that places children in danger is UNACCEPTABLE.
Placing homosexuals with boys is and DANGER and UNACCEPTABLE.
Do you think my wanting Boy Scouts to be a boys’ thing, and for men to be allowed to be masculine might be compatible with not wanting to see girls killed.

Scouting teaches boys to Be Prepared and that includes dealing with queers. Scouting teaches about spiders and how to avoid them and then if you or your friend did get bit scouting teaches first aid. You obviously were never a scout and if you were, didn’t pay attention

What you are missing is that boys and men need to gang. With females in the mix the strengthening of character of the individual through the challenging and support of one another does not occur. If you are not male or have not been part of a purposeful four to eight man team, then you have no idea of the dynamics that are involved. Provide a positive gang environment such as BSA or leave them to their own demise such as MS13. We have enough co-ed groups. Our failing school system squeezes boys through girl extrusions and expects them to be gentlemen at the other end. Do you really want men who wear pussy hats? No. The BSA movement was based on raising men from boys. The new slant on the scouting program will dilute the institution, cause its downfall, and open up the gates of unstructured hell of boy gravitation toward thuggery.

Sorry, but not all ‘change’ is good, and not all ‘change’ should be accepted without question.
We fight back as we can. And I agree, it sucks that my boys will not get to experience scouting (I have great memories of it), but it’s MUCH MORE IMPORTANT that they be safe from predators.
The fact that girls are permitted does not preclude the need for boys to gang. The same is true of girls.
When we think of patrols or cooking groups, it seems likely that they might be gender segregated simply because that is what the kids want.
In Scout units where girls 14 and older are permitted, there are many years ( at least 35) and lots and lots of very positive experience. There never have been a lot of girls, but there are many that desire participating in the rigorous scouting outdoor, advancement and leadership experience. That experience includes backpacking on a 70 mile trek at Philmont or sailing th Bhamas from Seabase.
I argue that you are simply wrong.
