The experimental research combined two types of stem cells and created a viable embryo which the team say would provide an unlimited stock for medical research.
The created embryos would also be used for medical treatment testing and help shed light on one of the biggest infertility enigmas - why embryos fail to implant in the womb.
However critics say it is a huge step towards human cloning.
The researchers believe the wonder creation could see mice being cloned in three years time, and humans two decades later.

For example, I highly admire Smith's insight that under cover of the 1A, he could create a sex cult that would legitimize multiple partners in an era of extreme rigidity. To paraphrase Voltaire, given the conditions of the time, someone was going to create a platform like the LDS.
Same true for Christianity; with the advent of the concept of spirit (eg your comment: intelligence is not physical), early apostles literally revolutionized the religious marketplace. For instance, consider the competing major faiths at the time which were silent as to metaphysics.
However, there's always a downside to new conceptual frameworks, as competitors flood the arena, filling different niches that appeal to differing levels of intelligence, motivation, orientation, environment, etc.
This, of course, is the problem with Islam. M took the concept of spiritual heaven, but instead of a rewards for forgiveness and purity, he advocated violence and conquest as the means to Nirvana. It was always going to happen, because there's a significant percentage of the population who are most stupid and violent; a religion was just waiting to be crafted for them.
Anyway, as to your main point, this is usually the divide between those who achieve material success in this world, and those who are waiting for their reward in their 'second life'. Not surprisingly, Christianity also addresses this point, by assuring devout believers that they'll "get theirs".
What really intrigues me is what new religion(s) will form as science/knowledge advances? X has had a good 2k year long run, but new alternative faiths are constantly being tested. Which one will deliver its eras "moon shot"?
Let's see them make they're own stuff.
So they were all in an airless, Completely empty room where they yelled let there be life! or something like that?
So they're going to all copy me? Great, I'll save a fortune in mirrors.
Even better....create the chemicals from nothing.
Notice how all of this experimentation and research is qualified with how it will lead to a cure for diseases. How can someone be against a cure for Alzheimer’s etc?
The end somehow justifies the means. One has to wonder just how far this already has gone in labs worldwide.
The only practical way we have to save human life from being commodified and monetized at the outset, is to insist that human life be generated only by intercourse between a husband and wife. Even surrogacy should be banned. Every natural tie of shared humanity should be secured. That means begetting via a sexual love union is the only way that even has a chance of securing the foundation of dignity of the child.
Don't treat human subjects like science-fair exhibits or factory products. Natural begetting is every human's right.
HA!
“from nothing”
old joke-God and atheist are debating creation.
And the atheist says, “I can create life! First you take some dirt....”
God interrupts, “Make your own dirt.”
In a way, this not humans playing God.
This is humans failing to play human.
LOL Just what I was thinking. But seriously come Lord Jesus and put an end to this madness
Create the quarks, gluons, leptons, etc.
Will the left like this as there is no way to have and abortion,,,,
There is no divide between science and religiontrue religion, that is. Not to mention, the more decadent uses that come from scientific “advances”, the more that making an idol of “science” shows itself to be the disaster it is.
It’s the communists who thought that science would ultimately disprove religion, particularly Christianity (which is why it’s singled out in the Manifesto’s preamble). Their disappointment is turning into rapid desperation.
They’ll grow their ‘commodity people’ in an artificial environment, then cut them up when they’re ready for market.
Just like pig or cows.
“A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy.” -Ingrid Newkirk
No they did not create something from nothing. Unlike God, they already had parts to work with.
I think they should provide their own chemicals also.
I’ve done as much.
Horse crap.
