Rudy Giuliani Says Trump Paid Back Stormy Daniels’ Hush Money, Rips ‘Pervert’ Comey
Daily Beast ^ | 3 May 2018 | Harry Siegal

Posted on 05/03/2018 4:00:27 AM PDT by Magnatron

In a remarkable appearance Wednesday, Rudy Giuliani said Donald Trump had indeed repaid the money used to buy Stormy Daniels’ silence about their affair, and that Trump had indeed fired then-FBI Director James Comey because Comey wouldn’t tell Trump that he wasn’t under investigation.

Both statements contradict the story the president himself and his White House have previously offered.

Giuliani’s appearance with Sean Hannity—one of the first by the former U.S. attorney since he joined Trump’s rapidly assembled new legal team, which has promised a tougher response to special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe—left the Fox News host and frequent Trump adviser and enabler openly stunned.

In an appearance stuffed with odd factual errors, like saying no president had ever before been subpoenaed, and sweeping claims about “criminal” Hillary Clinton and “disgraceful liar” and “pervert” James Comey, Giuliani flat out said Trump had paid back the money shelled out to buy the porn star’s silence, and that there was no problem there.

Can we use her real name instead or or at least beside her porno name of ‘Stormy’?

I prefer the name “Drizzle”.

why not concentrate on the media who reported on the substance of the interview?

2 May: Washington Times: Rudy Giuliani blasts Mueller probe, says ‘disgraceful’ Comey should be indicted
by Victor Morton Rowan Scarborough contributed to this report
“I know James Comey and I know President Trump. Sorry Jim, I know you’re a liar. You’re a disgraceful liar,” Mr. Giuliani told Sean Hannity.
“Comey should be prosecuted for leaking confidential FBI information,” Mr. Giuliani concluded about the memos finding their way via a law professor to the New York Times...

Mr. Giuliani also warned Mr. Mueller against trying to subpoena Mr. Trump to force him to testify under oath...
Mr. Giuliani told Mr. Hannity that in addition to written questions being submitted, he wanted Mr. Trump to be able to submit his answers via audio tape.

He also criticized the questions, saying the investigation “has become a witch hunt like the president said. They’re ‘trap’ questions,” designed to catch Mr. Trump in a lie, creating a crime where there hadn’t been one before.
“The crimes now have all been committed by the government and their agents,” Mr. Giuliani concluded, referring to abuse of the FISA court process to spy on the Trump campaign on behalf of the then-sitting president’s party...

The former mayor, also a former prosecutor, also accused Mr. Comey of falsely exonerating Mrs. Clinton over her use of a private email account and server, and the resulting mishandling of classified information.
“I do not know why the Justice Department is not investigating Hillary Clinton. James Comey rigged the whole case,” he said.

Mr. Hannity quotes the former FBI boss as saying “Hillary Clinton deeply respects the rule of law,” prompting Mr. Giuliani to reply, “this is a very perverted man.”

Sorry but Giuliani does not look well and appeared a bit drunk during that interview. Trump has to be careful trusting this guy.

There is a reason Comey took his government-issued laptop home with him after he was fired.

If this was a strategy, I think it was a poor one. All he accomplished was to undercut the credibility of the President. The public will not focus on the source of the payment. It will focus on the inconsistencies in the versions.

Ohhhkay? On just this, he’s already said he knew nothing about it. But according to Rudy, he paid Cohen back. Why would you pay for something you have no idea about?

Rudy Giuliani;

“I’m sorry Hillary, I know you’re very disappointed you didn’t win, but you’re a criminal! Equal justice would mean you would go to jail!”

There is no inconsistency. Watch the interview don’t just listen to media spin.

I have had enough of the Mueller Meat:
the sausage tastes bad.

Numbers 11:18–20 (LEB):

Sanctify [consecrate] yourselves tomorrow, for you will eat meat because you have wept in the ears of [LORD] Yahweh, saying, “Who will feed us good meat? It was good for us in Egypt.” [LORD] Yahweh will give to you meat, and you will eat. You will eat, not one day, or two days, or five days, or ten days, or twenty days, but for a whole month, until it comes out from your nose and becomes as nausea to you; because you have rejected [LORD] Yahweh, who is in your midst, and you wept before his presence, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?” ’

OK, did you listen to the interview?
Rudy explained that it was Cohen’s job to deal with nuisances, just as Giuliani did for his clients and you deal with them. You don’t bother the client with every detail. DJT paid his lawyer when he was billed, if you have seen lawyers bills when they are retainer it is usually a lump sum not a detailed list.

Well it seems like an established fact, so Trump might as well get out in front of it

plus the fact all of Cohen's records were seize in that raid.

You're getting nuanced in the term every detail. Trump needed to be aware of the agreement in order to avoid violating his end of it. He said he wasn't aware of an agreement period. Apparently he was as Rudy also said Trump paid for the agreement over time.

Additionally, how would Cohen know to execute an agreement and with who?

He didn't take a second mortgage. He had a line of credit and transferred monies into an account so he could do a transfer of funds to a third party.

The issue is campaign funds....period....and this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that it did NOT come from campaign funds.

Home equity lines are open ended seconds. But which was it? A trust account, that you stated in #27, or a home equity line?

Again. None of this matters. Trump made a legal arrangement with Daniels, paid for with his own money. There is nothing illegal about an NDA. Most folks who work for anyone in the public eye, sign them. This is much ado about nothing. Rudy is not going to say anything that he doesn’t run by Trump. Please remember that this is the guy who put the “Teflon Don” John Gotti away.

“His reply made perfect sense to me:
DJT paid his lawyer, via the fixed retainer fee or for his expenses plus the retainer fee.
This is what lawyers for a client do, is this hard?”

Exactly. I am amazed at the responses of some people on this forum. I would hope that they would have more intelligence.

That is not logical. When people try & contact DJT they are referred to the proper person, who would have been Cohen for legal matters. SD would never have gotten to DJT for conversation on a this subject or probably any subject, that’s what secretaries are for.

The agreement would have been with Cohen as an ongoing thing for all legal matters of a defined type. Depending on the material in any given time period the charges would have varied. It is very reasonable that the bills were just paid.
